50% of the sales were through digital services, which is expected considering the pandemic. In comparison, Resident Evil 2 2019 shipped 3 million units in the same time and Resident Evil 7 2.5 units.

Reception for the latest Resident Evil game has been mixed. Whereas RE7 and RE2 2019 were overwhelming positive RE3 2020 hasn't been as well-received. With many citing the game's short length and removal of choices.

Despite this Capcom, and many other publishers, are aware of the high demand for remakes for original titles. With Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Remake becoming one of the highest-rated games this generation and in the franchise. Other successes also include Activision's remastering of Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot.

Capcom is rumored to be remaking Resident Evil 4, which will be interesting. As the game is considered one of the best in the franchise and ground-breaking for the series.

Resident Evil 3 2020 is now available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
