Since launch, Warzone has been plagued by bugs and glitches, but one of the worst aspects has been the proliferation of cheaters.

According to an update on the official Call of Duty blog, Activision has banned 60,000 accounts that have been confirmed to have used cheat software for Warzone.

Following the announcement, Activision also stated:

"We are also continuing our efforts to identify and address cheat providers at the source who distribute unauthorized third party software for modding or hacking,"

They also go on to list several security measures they have undertaken, such as weekly security back-end updates, eliminating certain third-party software providers, adding two-factor authentification (which, apparently, has already exposed 180,000 suspect accounts), and more.

The company says it will continue to increase its efforts to combat cheating.

"We are committed to delivering a fair and fun experience for all players. This is a dedicated focus for our security, enforcement and technology teams."

They'll be adding "enhancements" to their internal cheat software and new software to heighten security, and they will also increase their team and resources.

The additional 60,000 banned accounts brought their total perma-bans since launch to 300,000.
Hopefully, Activision's increased efforts will make Warzone a more enjoyable experience for all. If you got banned for no reason, try to file an Activision ban appeal.

Warzone is free to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
