Guacamelee! 2 is set to be much bigger than the original.

It's time we prepare our luchador masks and brush up on our chicken befriending skills, as Guacamelee! 2 now has a release date. We'll return to the Mexiverse and its many colorful places on August 21st when the game launches on PC and PS4. Launching five years after the original, Guacamelee! 2 will retain its Metroidvania-crossed-with-brawling roots while expanding on what made the original a great title. Old tricks, like turning into a chicken to access narrow paths, will make a comeback while joined by new moves, such as Pollo Shot which allows players to use specific bouncy walls for traversal.
If in the original game Juan learned moves from just one old goat, Guacamelee! 2 brings five trainers which, when found, help Juan hone specific aspects of his brawling. Not only is one of these trainer a chicken – or rooster to be more exact –, there's also an entire "secret society of prophetic chickens", and that's probably not enough to fulfill DrinkBox Studios' promise of 300% more chickens which I'm particularly invested in. The title will feature 4-player co-op and cost $19.99 or your regional equivalent. Check out the release trailer and full announcement.
