Another year, another Call of Duty. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been a massive success but rumors have been circulating that the next entry from Treyarch will be set in the Cold War and is another installment in the Black Ops series. With Treyarch and Raven Software confirming they're working on the project.
It’s official. Looking forward to showing you what we’ve been cooking up with @RavenSoftware!

This aligns with Jason Schreier's article back in 2019, which stated the game would be set in the Cold War and Treyarch would be heading the project with Raven after a falling out with Sledgehammer. According to the article, it'll be Black Ops 5 and the project's shift was due to heavy disagreement between Sledgehammer and Raven during development, with the project described as a "mess".
It would be nice to get a campaign seeing that Black Ops 4 didn't include one and was heavily lacking in content until the battle royale mode launched. However, that mode was quickly overshadowed by the free-to-play Warzone.
