Disney buy out Marvel

Today Disney will gain full ownership of Marvel, as well as all of the characters along with it. That means Disney will have full reign over Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and many, many more.

Marvel's CEO, Ike Perlmutter, has stated "Disney is the perfect home for Marvel's fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses," and it’s an "unparalleled opportunity for Marvel to build upon its vibrant brand and character properties by accessing Disney's tremendous global organization and infrastructure around the world."

This could mean huge things for the gaming industry and see some interesting combinations of characters and franchises coming our way sometime in the future. Marvel already has a deal with Activision to bring us the Ultimate Alliance games, but adding Disney characters into the mix would add something totally different.

There’s also Kingdom Hearts, which is Disney’s biggest cross-over series. Perhaps there’s a possibility of them adding in characters such as Spider-Man and Wolverine and have them collaborate with the likes of Micky and Goofy from the Disney universe, and Sora and Sephiroth from Square-Enix.

There’s sure to be a lot of exciting news to add to this in the near future, so stay tuned to NoobFeed for all the latest happenings.
