Medal of Honor Open Beta

Weeks after a controversy that threatened the release of the game, along with the banning of Medal of Honor in 49 Gamestop’s at military bases around the world; Electronic Arts are trying to get back to what they believe important, and that’s people playing their highly-anticipated first-person shooter, that just happens to make use of Taliban soldiers in multiplayer.

EA have confirmed that an open PC beta of the game will be made available from October 4 and allows for up to 24 player action - a 12 vs. 12 essentially. “By offering the Multiplayer Open Beta, we can clear up any misunderstanding about the patriotism and respect that are the foundation of this game," said Frank Gibeau, President of EA Game. That statement in itself has already come under discussion in what is set to be a long-standing debate between what is deemed right and wrong.

He continued by saying, "The Open Beta of the 'Medal of Honor' multiplayer mode will allow players to sample the authenticity and adrenaline-fueled action that the full game will offer," in which two modes will be playable across two maps. Sector Control mode will see two sides fight to control various sector points, while Combat Mission mode will see players team up to complete an array of tasks against a team very much out to stop them.

EA have already made key improvements to their game having conducted a closed beta in June, and now they’re hoping to pick up on anything they may have missed before its retail release on October 12 in North America and October 15 in Europe for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The beta will be available here.
