New Sony Phone Gets PS3 Remote Play

Most of you know about Sony's Remote Play between the PlayStations 3 and Portable. The unique feature allows PSP owners to stream their PS3 through the PSP. This means you could get on your PS3 even if you are not anywhere near it. It works through Wi-Fi. You can do such things as look at pictures, listen to music, watch videos, check your friends list, maybe download something off the PlayStation Store to your PS3, and even play a few of the select games that support Remote Play. And all of these things are whats on your PS3, not your PSP. Isn't that interesting?

Well today Sony announced that their new Sony Ericsson Aino will have the Remote Play ability. The phone will support a Cross Media Bar (XMB) for Remote Play. Remote Play is not all it will have. The phone is made with a 3" TFT touch screen. An 8.1 Megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom will be part of the Ericsson Aino as well as many other features. A geotagging system is in place as well as a video recorder. A number of picture improving features are included such as red-eye reduction, image/video stabilization, face detection, touch focus, and auto focus. Inside the phone will be 55MBs of memory, and included will be an 8GB MicroSD card. You can, of course expand on the memory by simply purchasing a new MicroSD card.

In addition to the already noted features, buys will find that the new phone supports a program called Media Go. Via a Wi-Fi network it will be made possible to stream music directly from their PC. By synching your PC media with the Aino you can stream other sorts of PC-based media as well. Consumers who reside in the UK and Europe will have the option of using their PS3's PlayTV. Thats full playback and recording support!

Expect to see the Sony Ericsson Aino by the Holidays of 2009.
