The expected June Direct presentation from Nintendo is only gaining steam as insider reports, ratings board leaks, and store listings reveal what fans may expect from the company’s planned summer extravaganza. There’s been a lot of buzz about the show, specifically the titles reportedly coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. However, Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed the event yet.
Some of the alleged games have been discussed to death in the gaming world over the past few months, but new information suggests Nintendo is planning one of its largest summer showcases in years. Nintendo’s summer roadmap will be heavy on assigning launch dates to officially revealed first-party projects.

Now, games like Splatoon Raiders and Rhythm Heaven Groove have been formally slated for release in July.
This is what sources claimed earlier that both games will be coming out in the summer. But Nintendo still doesn’t have a firm launch date for Fire Emblem Fortune Weave. The strategy RPG that just appeared on the ratings board is one of the most talked-about games ahead of the expected Direct. These labels have only further bolstered the assumption that the game is close to release.
Many people think Fire Emblem Fortune Weave might be Nintendo’s major August release. Finally, at the June Direct, the corporation revealed the official release date. With Nintendo’s current release schedule, this period seems like a perfect fit with the rest of the company’s developing summer roster.
And thanks to projects already disclosed, we can already see some of what Nintendo has planned for 2026. Star Fox, the company’s June 25 release, is likely to be one of its biggest this month. Because the game is coming out so soon after the show supposedly takes place, many people think Nintendo will showcase the game extensively during the Direct.
Insiders also frequently mention a mysterious Switch 2 Sports project unrelated to Star Fox or Fire Emblem. Multiple outlets suggest Nintendo could be developing a new Switch Sports or a sports compilation to take advantage of the Switch 2’s advanced features. How the initiative will come together is not much known at this moment. Rumors claim that Nintendo might add more sports or make multiplayer play a bigger focus.
Nintendo might just update the present game with better graphics and better motion controls. Whatever this game might be, it’s probably coming sometime in the late summer or early fall. Another fascinating hypothesis is that Pikmin 4 may have a special Switch 2 edition sometime this summer. A report indicated that Nintendo is working on enhanced versions of several current Switch games for the new hardware.
According to sources, the new Pikmin 4 version could work similarly to earlier Nintendo upgrade programs, where gamers pay for a premium expansion pack that includes improved graphics and additional DLC content.
Many in the industry have said the rumored method is comparable to the upgrades seen in Kirby and the Forgotten Land and the TV-style expansions in Mario Party Jamboree. Nintendo’s first-party titles may not be the only focus for the Direct—third-party developers could also feature heavily. Elden Ring and Nintendo’s secret project, The Duskbloods, are two current hot topics.

Contacts with investors from Kadokawa, FromSoftware's parent business, have apparently confirmed that both projects will still be released in 2026. Elden Ring’s Nintendo stance has grown stranger amid its extended silence, but not much is known about The Duskbloods. The game was intended to be released earlier, but there have been very few reports on the project in the last few months.
But suspicions resurfaced when an online Canadian retailer promised the release date would be in July. In an unusual twist, the rumored release date is a Friday, when most blockbuster games are released. If the listing is accurate, Nintendo might use the June Direct to announce the release date, meaning the game would reach players just a few weeks after the presentation.
This reflects Nintendo’s strategy of narrowing the gap between announcement and release. Meanwhile, The Duskbloods is supposed to be targeting a later release date in 2026. Some reports believe the game could be released in October, while others believe Nintendo may wait until early December. Either way, there is more hope than ever that the game will eventually reappear during the summer showcase, after being AWOL for months already.
One of the most fascinating speculations swirling around the exhibition is a potential remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
According to several insiders, Nintendo may be developing the version as one of its main Christmas games for 2026. There’s a lot of talk that the remake would have a totally new look and improved game systems for a younger audience. If this is accurate, the game would likely be one of the most important statements during the whole event.
While Nintendo has not commented on the Direct speculation, a number of insider sources, retail leaks, and activity on rating boards have led many fans to think a big presentation announcement is coming. Fans of Nintendo are still waiting for one of the biggest summer shows the business has seen in recent memory. In the meantime, the excitement keeps growing.
