It looks like Rockstar Games is making its first baby steps toward reviving the marketing campaign for Grand Theft Auto 6, even as fans are still waiting for the next big announcement. No third teaser, gameplay presentation, or major update has happened yet, but recent activity suggests the company may be slowly shifting its focus to its biggest forthcoming release.
Rockstar has been focused on pushing the latest GTA Online content these last few weeks, especially the new Kortz Center Heist upgrade. At the same time, the business has continued to highlight ongoing developments in Red Dead Online, suggesting its current marketing efforts remain split across its existing live-service products.

But that may be starting to change. Soon after the debut of the new GTA Online update, Rockstar is said to have begun running sponsored adverts for Grand Theft Auto 6 on social media again (especially Instagram). Similar ads have also popped up on X. While most of these promos are aimed at funneling players into preordering the game's Ultimate Edition instead of fresh content reveals, many take their resurgence as a sign that the publisher is prepping for its next marketing push.
Rockstar hasn’t officially resumed its full promotional push, but the refreshed ads suggest the business may be gradually shifting back to GTA 6 after a temporary focus on its online content.
This very limited development has been regarded as a positive sign for fans eagerly awaiting another video or gameplay demonstration. Another item that has captured the community's attention is Rockstar's Instagram page. Fans who pay attention observed that the studio cleaned up its profile again, limiting the amount of visible postings to a much smaller collection before posting a new post showing one of the vehicles added in the Kortz Center Heist update, the Benefactor LRC GT.
Rockstar has done this a few times over the last couple of years, removing older posts to keep their profile looking cleaner. It is not obvious if this has anything to do with Grand Theft Auto 6. Still, it has naturally sparked curiosity among fans looking for signs of when the next announcement might come. The community has been so hyped up that users have started going through artwork from the last GTA Online release for any possible clues about GTA 6.
One of the paintings stolen during the Kortz Center Heist has received special attention, with some fans claiming its outline resembles the territory of Leonida. In this fictional state, GTA 6 is set. The image bears a passing resemblance to the southern shoreline of Florida, which, as Leonida has stated, is the basis for Leonida. Still, there's little evidence that the artwork was produced as a deliberate teaser.
Vice City, Port Gellhorn, and the Leonida Keys were already shown in the advertising material for the previously released game; the painting just seems more fortuitous than revealing. While there have definitely been better GTA 6 Easter eggs in prior Rockstar games, this latest hypothesis merely goes to show how desperate fans are for any kind of news.

Despite it being only weeks since the last official update, the community is still combing through every new piece of Rockstar content for any buried references. But, away from the marketing conjecture, a recent industry assessment predicts that GTA 6 could be one of the greatest entertainment debuts ever.
GTA 6 has already generated almost $260 million in global pre-orders, according to early estimates from a video game analytics report.
The studio data apparently reveals over $180 million in digital pre-orders in the U.S. and the five largest European nations in the last week of June alone, and analysts estimate demand will continue to build as the debut nears. Based on pre-order trends, Newzoo believes GTA 6 could earn between $3.25 billion and $5.2 billion in its initial week, figures that would well surpass those of almost any prior video game launch.
But these are lofty goals, maybe, but Rockstar has shown itself capable of record-breaking sales previously. Grand Theft Auto V made about 800 million dollars in its first 24 hours, hit one billion dollars in three days, and reached about 1.15 billion dollars in five days after selling about 16 million units. If Grand Theft Auto 6 lives up to or beyond the exceptional level of consumer demand that many analysts are forecasting, the launch of the game might set brand new financial standards for the gaming industry.
Further details on pre-order performance could be provided during Take-Two Interactive’s next earnings call, slated for early August, before the open of U.S. markets. Investors will probably look for fresh advice on GTA 6 sales predictions, and many fans also think the event could see Rockstar restart its full marketing campaign.
