Steam Summer Sale Roundup for July 2
News by Jesse Dolman on Jul 02, 2011
As you have probably read in one of our recent news articles, Steam's Summer Camp Sale, aka Valve's Bi-Annual Campaign To Empty Your Wallets, is helping you kill off those boring summer days.
Today's offers contain a few items of interest, starting with Magicka, the indie smash hit that I'm sure particularly DaavPuke will want to force you to get, with the price being as low as €3,39 right now (that's 66% off). Robes not included.

Speaking of indie titles, Plants vs. Zombies goes at the exact same price for the next 24 hours, so if you didn't have this casual time-killer extraordinaire already, now is the time to repent.
If Plants vs. Zombies and Magicka aren't enough to fuel your indie elitist rage, or if you just want to play a kickass platformer, Super Meat Boy is 50% off, with the current price being €6,99.

Fortunately, today's sales also include a few blockbusters for ze capitalist pigdogs among ye. BioShock 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 are both down 75% to €4,99 and €7,50 respectively. Especially BioShock 2 is recommended, or so thinks yours truly, as it improved a lot from BioShock 1 gameplay-wise and offers an interesting plot with a killer ending. You'll probably want to play BioShock 1 first, though. Fortunately, that game can also be picked up for €4,99 today.

But perhaps the most interesting deal is the Half-Life franchise sale. You can buy any Half-Life game, expansion or add-on for prices ranging from €1,24 to €2,49, or you can pick up the Half-Life Complete Pack for just under €10 and get every game in the series plus Team Fortress Classic.

Other prominent titles include Football Manager 2011 (12,49), Fable III (19,99) and Aliens vs. Predator (4,99), the latter of which can be avoided unless you desperately crave for a mediocre shooting experience for whatever reason.
Remaining sales for today:
Darksiders - €4,99
Hoard - €2,99
Resident Evil 5 - €14,99
Enjoy your backlog.
