Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
News by Craig Bryan on Oct 08, 2011
Transformers fans itching for more robot violence can look forward to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron next year. Fall of Cybertron is billed as a successor to the generally well-received Transformers: War for Cybertron.
Activision announced the game in an Oct. 6 press release, which also confirmed that High Moon Studios will stay on as its developer.
"High Moon Studios is an extremely talented development team having raised the bar of gameplay and TRANSFORMERS authenticity in their games," said David Oxford, Executive Vice President at Activision. "TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON is an extraordinary project both for the studio and the TRANSFORMERS gaming legacy — the stakes are higher and the scale much larger than ever before, and we absolutely cannot wait for fans to see all the new characters and epic action that awaits them."

The November issue of Game Informer will offer more in-depth coverage of Fall of Cybertron later this month. Game Informer’s website unveiled two separate covers: Both featuring the famed Autobot leader Optimus Prime, with one additionally featuring Bumblebee and the other Grimlock, presumably.
The game’s original storyline, which picks up immediately after the ending of War for Cybertron, follows the battles that led to the emigration of the Autobots and Decepticons from Cybertron. Hasbro, Inc. is working with Activision to pen the story.
"Our team at Hasbro is looking forward to exploring and expanding the TRANSFORMERS story again with an incredible blockbuster video game that will blow fans away next year,” said Mark Blecher, SVP of Digital Media and Marketing at Hasbro.
There’s been no official confirmation of platforms yet, but the press release hints at both a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release, at the very least.
