During a financial report earlier today, Ubisoft revised its strategy for the 2009-10 year which includes a larger focus on its major franchises.

With slowing sales in the casual DS market, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said the publisher intends to "continue to refocus our development resources on our major franchises and on the Xbox 360 and PS3, the two consoles which are expected to see sales growth in games for gamers in 2010."

Ubisoft also announced that RUSE would see release in the 2010-11 fiscal year (from April 2010 to March 2011) and Splinter Cell: Conviction would be delayed until April. Conviction was previously set to be released Feb. 23.

Those titles join a strong 2010-11 lineup that includes new iterations of Ghost Recon, Raving Rabbids, Driver and Prince of Persia. Gamers can also expect to see "a new episode of Assassin's Creed," the first to see online multiplayer.

"The 2010-11 line-up – which is stronger in franchises for Xbox360 and PS3 – reflects our refocusing efforts and should enable us to both win market share and enhance our profitability,” said Guillemot.
