Crimson Desert Guide | How to Reset Bounty

Here’s a guide on how to reset Bounty in Crimson Desert.

In Crimson Desert, breaking the law leads to a Bounty on your head. When your status is Wanted, a red outline appears on your map to show where guards are looking for you. If your Bounty stays low, you can usually walk through towns without much trouble.

However, if it gets too high, guards will attack you as soon as they see you. You have two main ways to fix this. You can get arrested, which means losing some of your items, or you can find a more peaceful way to clear your name in Crimson Desert.

Visiting the Church of Hernand

The best way to clear your record without losing your gear is to visit a house of worship. In the town of Hernand, you can find the Church of Hernand located near the center of the city.

If you look at your map and hover over this location, it will often show you other connected churches you can visit if you are in a different region. The building is large and easy to spot from the street. Walk through the front doors to find help with your legal troubles.

Buying a Writ of Absolution

Once you are inside the church, look to your left. You'll find an NPC named Alfred. Chat with him to access his shop.

If you want to get rid of your Wanted status, you'll need to buy a Writ of Absolution. The cost of this document isn't fixed. It will cost you the same number of Coins as your current Bounty level in Crimson Desert.

By paying Alfred, you essentially settle your debt with the law. It's a far better outcome than being caught, since it allows you to retain everything you've taken.

Purchasing the document resets your standing, and the red marker on your map vanishes. This is the most secure method of resuming your explorations without constantly glancing around.
