The Mystery of the Falling Star Arbiter.
The Paladin class must be completely redesigned to meet the most challenging endgame scenarios in the Lord of Hatred expansion. The Falling Star Arbiter build is a complete throwback to an all-new type of playstyle beyond the melee archetype, and it's quite a contrasting one at that.
This endgame elite setup is a shift from standing still to playing with high speed and screen-clearing abilities, based on a complete expression of holy wrath. This build allows you to engage in a different style of fight with the demonic creatures; rather than tussling with them on the ground, you are able to escalate to a higher level of battle by flying through the air and controlling the fight above.
The main goal of this build is to achieve extremely clean velocities, with the ultimate goal being a permanent condition rather than a one-time event. A setup designed with the intent to offer a good farming experience with Pits and Torment levels, where the gameplay is no longer reliant on a slow mechanical rotation but rather a continuous chain of passive damage and explosive entry rotations.
The Permanent Arbiter Form of the Power
Your absolute mechanical core and the deciding factor of this entire build is having absolute uptime of the ultimate ability's Arbiter of Justice. With proper optimization, this huge ultimate can be cast again immediately upon its cooldown.
Once Arbiter of Justice is activated, your Paladin will have a pair of beautiful, radiant divine wings, which will change the way you engage enemies in the area. These heavenly wings shoot fast and far at any enemies you encounter while playing through a dungeon.
The good thing about this passive damage engine is that you don't have to cast or target it; you can just move and position. Also, with the specialized Upgrade: Reach of the Law, each individual wing strike automatically inflicts the Vulnerable status on anything it strikes.
This mechanical interaction renders the need for weak setup skills utterly unnecessary, making every enemy encountered vulnerable to multiplicative devastating damage solely from stepping in within its attack range.
The Falling Star Mobility Loop is a mastered lesson.
The Falling Star ability is the main active skill in the build, which helps you to move across the screen with ease and to actively manage your ultimate cooldown. Falling Star is a very dynamic mechanical device that lets your Paladin ascend high into the sky and then plunge with the impact of a meteor into enemy packs.
This ability is essential in several important ways to your combat loop. On impact, it creates a huge AoE holy explosion, and also activates your gear synergies to put your ultimate cooldown into a tight squeeze.
You'll want to put in a lot of Falling Star skill points and pick the upgrade paths that will yield extra skill charges and quickened cooldown recuperation upon hitting dense groups, to make the most of this interaction.
As long as you do it right, you'll be leaping from enemy packs like stepping stones to keep you in your ultimate form. The short times between recharges of Falling Star are using Divine Bolt as a low-cost utility tool while keeping the main Faith requirements relatively low, meaning that you can focus on pure offensive scaling.
Oath of a Disciple, Aura Synergies
The Disciple Oath class mechanic is a commitment you have to make to play Torment at the highest difficulty settings. This option gives your character offensive scaling directly related to his Strength and Willpower, giving him a solid base of raw attack and holy power.

Your survivability is not something you have to manage during an active defensive spell, but rather, a strategic ability to layer your class auras to achieve survivability. The build prominently includes the Fanaticism Aura, with the special Rite of Redemption upgrade path.
This particular mod leaves the penitent player in possession of large amounts of healing and passive Fortify when a weak or weakish enemy dies in their area. Your automated wing is always making full screens of enemies vulnerable, so the natural act of clearing a map becomes a survival mechanism.
While moving from one pack to another, your Fortify bar will stay completely full, so you can take on unexpected spikes from the projectiles and the surrounding environment without stopping your forward momentum.
For Absolute Cooldown & Ultimate Duration
To make this build a legendary end-game conqueror, you must take the following steps in a step-by-step process in the Blacksmith without any compromises. Since your damage in your Ultimate Form is directly proportional to your normal form's damage, your highest priority when tempering and masterworking your jewelry and armor is the Cooldown Reduction, along with the Arbiter of Justice Duration.
These stats are important early in the game, as they create a mechanical bridge to reach 100% uptime before optimizing your character. The Godslayer Crown is an essential headpiece for the elite pack that will make a head-turning difference in how you're able to interact with elite packs.
This special helmet has a potent ability: when taking damage, it will attract all enemies nearby and knock them out whenever an elite is hit. It creates a vacuum effect that concentrates the demonic horde into one point, thus creating a Falling Star impact that will decimate them and maximize the number of passive wing strikes on one.
This is complemented by adding the Aspect of Ascension and the Aspect of Heavenly Strength to your main gear items, so that your global damage output is multiplied exponentially when you are at your ultimate state.
Advanced Paragon Routing and Armor Offense
The deep endgame involves a very calculated strategy in the Paragon system, and involves pathing through 4 key boards: Apostle, Divinity, Relentless and Castle.
Any minor, generic attribute nodes in your path should be disregarded entirely and you must move as a single unit towards the central glyph sockets and legendary nodes that increase the amount of holy damage or critical strike chance.
What makes this particular Paragon setup so great, is that it is designed to work your way into your defense stats while enhancing your attack stats. You will, of course, meet the hard physical mitigation cap for Torment difficulties, as you get a lot of hard pathing through the Castle board, and many of the nodes that give you armor add to your overall armor rating.
This huge accumulation of armor is multiplicative and directly adds to your base damage from holy shockwaves and wing strikes; however, the unique multiplicative interactions within the boards you choose along the way generate even more damage.
This dual-purpose scaling makes it very easy to get very powerful even though you're tanking, as each piece of equipment used to increase tank damage also increases your health in a different way.
The Light Epiphany Charm Set and Final Execution.

To truly push your Paladin beyond normal stats limits and to obtain absolute mastery, you need to make it a master of the unique Charm system of the game by acquiring the Light's Epiphany charm set.
Adds a ton of unconditional holy skill bonuses to your skill ranks and critical strike damage bases, giving your automatic attacks a full 100% of the way.Adds a ton of unconditional holy skill bonuses to your skill ranks and critical strike damage bases, so that your automatic attacks hit full strength.
In practice, the Falling Star Arbiter build requires a “can do” attitude and a very forward-leaning position in which you allow no passive positioning whatsoever. Upon entering an endgame zone, you instantly enter your ultimate mode, activate your auras and jump into the closest elite pack with Falling Star.
Your permanent divine wings will instantly destroy the enemies, no matter what, causing your cooldowns to reset instantly, so you can just jump to the next target as the Godslayer Crown sucks them.
The unstoppable momentum is the perfect embodiment of Paladin's true strength, letting you effortlessly carve through the most difficult moments of this game with majestic poise and deadly precision.
