Reaching the Toy's Location

To get this collectible, you'll want to proceed to where the toy is. It's before a boss battle in chapter 8, so watch out as you approach this level's end.

This room will contain a cage containing the collectible and numerous flame traps. Double-check if you are in the right spot, and don't start the boss fight unless you are done collecting the collectible.

Finding the Chain Around the Cage

When you arrive at this spot in Doom: The Dark Ages, you must look for a nearby cage-like thing. Walk around the cage until you notice a chain supporting the Cage. Breaking the chain will open the cage and unlock the collectible. You will need your shield ready since that is what you'll have to break the chain with.

You must run in circles and look for the chains while moving. You'll get hit by flames and lose your health if you stand in one spot. You'll need to restart the whole puzzle if you die. So, make sure to avoid the flames. When you find the chain, strike it with your shield to break it.

Opening the Path with Your Shield

Once you've broken the first chain, don't rush. Turn to your left and see that a new door has opened beside the first chain. It will be initially locked if you haven't thrown your shield properly in the first chain.

This is your next target. Throw your shield into this opening containing gears. Hitting the target will open the cage containing the Witch Toy collectible in Doom: The Dark Ages.

Collecting the Toy

After you have broken the chain, the gears proceed towards the middle, contacting the cage and collecting the Collectible. Make sure to avoid the flames because they'll still be active even after you have solved the puzzle in Doom: The Dark Ages.

This trophy is essential if you want to complete the game 100 percent. Don't explore the area so quickly that you miss this simple yet rewarding treasure. The key thing you just need to remember is not to get hit by the flames while you are solving the puzzle.
