Game Guide by Faviyan Mustafiz on Jun 20, 2025
This guide presents the optimal high DPS starter build for Dune Awakening, designed to maximize speed, adaptability, and close-range damage. It offers a detailed overview of skill trees, gear recommendations for leveling and endgame, and efficient gameplay strategies.
If you follow this guide, you'll be able to fight quickly and aggressively and move forward easily through both solo exploration and group encounters.
Build Overview

The main idea behind this build is to use improved shotguns and certain perks that make gap-closing skills better. This lets you kill enemies quickly and keep attacking.
Strong guns like the GRDA 44 shotgun and mobility skills like Bindu Sprint work together to keep enemies under constant pressure while making farming, looting, and leveling up go quickly.
Early Progression (Levels 1–20)
The initial stages focus on unlocking essential mobility and utility skills. Selecting the Bene Gesserit class grants strong early-game passives and unlocks Bindu Sprint for a significant speed boost before vehicle access.
You should prioritize Bindu Sprint for rapid movement, Compel to force enemies out of cover, and the Voice Chaining passive to reduce Compel cooldown.
Investing in techniques such as Trauma Recovery for healing, Bindu Stability for stagger resistance and damage reduction, and Metabolize Poison for poison immunity bolsters survivability and minimizes downtime between engagements.
Unlocking the Trooper and Planetologist classes in the first zone further enhances mobility and utility. Each provides crucial movement options and contributes to the build's aggressive, close-range playstyle.

Mid-Game Progression (Levels 20–30)
Transition focus to unlocking level-one passives across the Swordmaster, Planetologist, and Trooper skill trees rather than maxing a single passive. This diversified spread provides a broad spectrum of benefits without restrictive pathing.
Combat enhancements such as the Explosive Grenade or Assault Seeker offer burst damage in tight spaces, while anti-gravity grenades freeze nearby foes, complementing the shotgun-centric playstyle.
Shotgun headshots benefit from passives like Maintenance Headshot Bonus, significantly improving kill speed. Survival passives—including Max Health, Stamina, Energy, and Healing Boost—should be collected from the Swordmaster, Trooper, and Bene Gesserit. Additionally, stamina regeneration and energy efficiency passives enable more frequent use of mobility skills during prolonged battles.
Endgame Progression (Level 30 and Beyond)

At the endgame, maximize all relevant combat and survival passives to fine-tune the build. Introduce advanced gap-closers such as Verding Step (teleports behind enemies and stuns) and Knee Charge (pushes into close range while stunning) to set up one-shot shotgun headshots.
Skills like Shigawire Claw allow seamless rotation through powerful, low-cooldown abilities, maintaining constant mobility and burst damage. Continue upgrading weapon perks and armor enhancements to complement skill power.
Armor and Equipment
Armor serves as both protection and survival lifeline, especially in solo play. The Kirab Scout Set is a good mix of mobility, durability, and resistance to the elements. When you wear it with the Emperor's Wings Mk1 Suspensor Belt, you can move as freely as possible.
As you progress, you should focus on armor pieces that help you recover stamina and protect you from desert and toxic hazards.
Weapon Recommendations

The GRDA 44, which you can get from Iron Technology, is the primary early-game handgun. The distributor is very good at breaking enemy shields, and their tech level is the same as yours.
You can make a potent shotgun combo by upgrading to the Drillshot FK7, which can penetrate shields at mid-range.
The Karpov 38 is another option for long-range battles because it has a high fire rate and a large magazine, and the Kaleff's Drinker is another option for close combat because it has a fast attack speed and good damage. Both of these weapons give you a lot of build options.
Main Tools
Movement and utility tools underpin this setup. The Emperor's Wings Mk1 Suspensor Belt enhances both damage and mobility, while higher-tier belts expand travel distances at increased energy costs. Seek blueprints that reduce energy drain or improve efficiency.
On the power side, early access to the Old Sparky MK1 Power Pack boosts power regeneration, ensuring sustained mobility skill usage. Efficient power management remains crucial during intense fights.
Gameplay Strategy
Unpredictability, verticality, and aggressive positioning are key to success with this build. You can use the Shigawire Claw as a grappling hook to move and fall.
The Suspensor Dash lets you move around in the air, and the anti-gravity field and Suspensor belt let you fight in the air.
Float above the ground to snipe or glide to safety, staying hidden and controlling the flow of the fight. Battles that are hard to win can be won with consistent repositioning, exact timing, and patience.
