Wylder is a powerful class in Elden Ring Nightreign. In order to unlock his full potential, you need to complete a lengthy and convoluted remembrance questline, all of which is covered in this guide. By following each step carefully, you will obtain unique relics, skins, and other valuable rewards.
Beginning Wylder's Remembrance Questline
The first thing you need to do is obtain the Old Pocket Watch, which is guaranteed after completing a Tricephalos Expedition. That means you must defeat Gladius, Beast of Night. Doing so will grant you the Old Pocket Watch, which you can give to the Priestess NPC.
This will unlock the Duchess character and allow you to start Wylder's first Remembrance quest at the Journal in Round Table Hold. You will begin the Remembrance in Chapter 3 of Wylder's Journal.
Wylder Remembrance 1 (Chapter 3, Slate Whetstone Relic)
Once you have begun Chapter 3, move past the Journal to another room to find the Iron Menial NPC. Speak with the Menial and accept the task by replying "Understood." This will give you a personal objective for Wylder.
To complete this objective, begin any run while using Wylder and while in the Remembrance. If you are playing with a group and other players are also trying to complete the objective, you must do it one player at a time across three separate runs.
For instance, you can complete the objective in the Gaping Jaw expedition. You will know your objective has priority in the run if you see a red flag marker on the map. For Wylder's objective, head to the nearest mine shaft.
Once there, make your way down to the deepest part of the mine. You should see what looks like a legendary item embedded in the wall. Approaching it will cause a Tunnel Crystalian to appear. After defeating the Crystalian, retrieve the Slate Whetstone Relic. With the objective completed, you can finish the expedition or perish trying.
Back at the Hold, deliver the Slate Whetstone Relic to the Iron Menial to obtain a handful of rewards, the most important being the Mended Earring. Then, head into the next room and hold up both earrings in the light.
Next, speak with the Duchess and choose "Give Mended Earring". The nearby portal will take you out of the Remembrance, completing it. Doing so rewards you with the Slate Whetstone Relic.
Wylder Remembrance 2 (Chapter 5, Wylder's Chalice)
Next, go back to the Journal and begin Chapter 5, Wylder Remembrance. If you do not have access to this Remembrance, you may need to complete an expedition as Wylder first. After beginning Wylder's Chapter 5 Remembrance, move into the west section of the Hold, the Library, and interact with three separate books. Doing so opens a door to the Hold's Mausoleum, which you can access by descending the nearby staircase.
There, interact with the three sarcophagi, then speak to the Iron Menial and ask, "About the Priestess of the Roundtable." Then, finish this Remembrance by heading to the beach to find the Duchess.
Ask, "Are you trapped here?" and use the nearby portal after the dialogue. Upon completion, you will obtain Wylder's Chalice. Equip the chalice at the Relic Rites station; it has a special white slot that can fit any relic, regardless of color.
Prerequisite for Raider Remembrance 3 (Chapter 7)
This is where things become more complicated for Wylder's questline. Before you can progress to the following Remembrance, you must successfully defeat four different Night Lord Targets, which unlocks the final expedition target, the Night Aspect.
You do not need to complete all of these with Wylder, but you may need to defeat the first expedition target as Wylder.
You may also need to have completed the Remembrance questline for Duchess up to Chapter 7, as her questline is intertwined with Wylder's. These notes give you a place to start.
Once you have access to Wylder's Chapter 7 Remembrance, begin it and read the note on the nearby table. Then, head down to the Mausoleum and find the chest on the left at the bottom of the staircase, which contains the Torn-Out Paper Scrap.
After grabbing that, return to the main level to find and speak with the Recluse and ask, "About taking the Night Lord's power." The response may not matter, but choose "It does" to progress the questline.
Personal Objective (Find a Silver Tear), Noklateo Prerequisite
To complete your objective, first unlock the Shifting Earth event "Noklateo, the Shrouded City" and have it active in your expedition. This is the final Shifting Earth event to unlock. It typically unlocks after defeating the Fissure in the Fog target, which is also the seventh unique expedition target.
If you have already experienced this event and it ended, its recurrence is then up to chance after defeating any Night Lord. Therefore, prioritize completing this step in Wylder's quest as soon as possible.
Once you have the Shifting Earth for Noklateo underway, switch back to Wylder and resume the Chapter 7 Remembrance if you were playing other characters. Ensure your fellow Nightfarers are not also trying to complete a personal objective, then begin the expedition.
Noklateo Walkthrough (Silver Tear)
Your objective target is deep within Noklateo, an area filled with difficult enemies. Therefore, spend the first day outside the city to gain strength.
Ideally, reach level 8 or 9 by the start of Day 2, at which point you can quickly move to Noklateo's entrance near the southwest side of the map.
Upon entering the city, move southeast to find an entrance into the city's sewers. Continue southeast through an archway just beyond a cluster of Basilisks.
Following this path leads to a Spirit Spring, which you can take to the inner sanctum of Noklateo. Just past the first Site of Grace and to the south-southeast, you should see a sarcophagus containing a golden objective item.
Approaching it summons a Mimic Troll, which you must defeat before picking up the Silver Tear. Completing this objective ensures that, as long as you finish the run, whether by success or failure, you keep the Silver Tear.
Armament Replication, Favor of Noklateo, the Shrouded City
Since you are here, explore the other secrets in Noklateo. The nearest is just to the southwest, where a sarcophagus allows you to duplicate a single armament. You should hold off on this, as a boss that drops guaranteed legendary items lies ahead.
To reach this, move northwest a short distance, then go southwest at a Site of Grace. This leads to the southwesternmost structure of Noklateo, where the formidable boss, Naturalborn of the Void, awaits.
After defeating this boss, choose from several legendary rewards. Then, proceed to the back of this area to retrieve the Favor of Noklateo, the Shrouded City.
In addition to unlocking the achievement "Noklateo, the Shrouded City," you receive a buff that revives you from near death once and increases your power for a short time, which is very helpful for defeating the final boss of an expedition.
Finishing Remembrance 3 (Silver Tear Relic, Remembrance Garb for Wylder)
Upon returning to Round Table Hold, speak with the Iron Menial and use the nearby portal to complete the Chapter 7 Remembrance. Doing so unlocks Remembrance Garb for Wylder and the Silver Tear Relic.
How to Complete Wylder's Quest (Secret/Alternate Ending, Wylder's Earring Relic)
To complete the final step in Wylder's questline, equip the Silver Tear Relic, then complete the final expedition targeting the Night Aspect. After completing this expedition, you will be brought to an alternate version of the post-game ending.
There, touch the Night Lord. This triggers Wylder's alternate ending, unlocks Chapter 9 in his Journal, and grants Wylder's Earring Relic.
