Enshrouded Guide | How To Get the Glider

Once you have successfully rescued the Blacksmith, you'll be tasked with learning about the Elixir Well system and eventually building your first Glider.

The Glider will be vital to all exploration and easy questing, making it a very essential tool for you.

Preparation and Route Planning

Before departing for the Elixir Well, make sure you are well supplied and have the best route mapped out in Enshrouded.

You'll want to come back in the same direction you first rescued the Blacksmith. The suggested plan is to use the central road leading to the small camp, where your point of entry and exit to and from the Blacksmith area is.

As you arrive at the road, keep following the south road straight to a T-junction. Do not turn right at the junction and keep going straight down the road.

This path choice avoids as many enemy encounters as possible, which is important considering you're under time pressure when you're already inside the Shroud.

Keep along this path until you come across a left turn which takes you through a little gate - this is your destination of choice.

Navigating the Shroud Zone

Once you enter the Shroud area, be careful because there are so many hostile enemies. Walk on the right side of the path, as it will take you towards your destination.

There are several groups of enemies that you will encounter in the Shroud area. Though you can engage them if you wish, it's often a good idea to avoid battles unless strictly necessary due to the active timer system of the Shroud in Enshrouded.

The Shroud places a number of limitations on your actions and movements. Perhaps most significantly, you can't fast travel within this region..

Aside from this, there's also a timer system within the region, so precise movement and quick thinking are a must in the Shroud in Enshrouded.

Finding and Visiting the Elixir Well

Scattered around the globe, you'll find numerous Elixir Wells to see, with some of them being accessible quite early in your journey.

Every Elixir Well has a standard big mushroom design that you'll have to destroy with your Axe. Go down into the well, approach the entrance carefully, and search for the crawl-through tunnel which leads you to the lower room.

As you get ready to go down, make sure you inspect the left-hand side of the entrance area. You'll usually have a Chest containing loose items close to the entrance.

Although the items are diverse, you can get valuable items like improved Wands or other equipment that will significantly enhance your combat abilities for the next boss fight.

Boss Fight: The Spell Brute

The Spell Brute is your first big boss fight inside an Elixir Well. This Thunder Brute is a medium fight that requires strategic positioning and care.

The boss also carries a leashing device, which, if you stray too far from where it started, will go back to where it began and restore all of its health. The positioning and range control become a part of the battle in Enshrouded.

In combat, the Spell Brute also has a strong kick attack with a relatively wide hitbox that cannot be dodged by positioning alone.

Because rolling doesn't give invincibility, you will have to use exact timing and spacing not to get hit. Blocking is usually worthless against this opponent, so play to stay at a distance and play defensively while facing this boss in Enshrouded.

Using a Wand makes the fight much simpler because you can maintain a safe distance and attack.

The ranged combat approach minimizes your exposure to the boss's close-range attacks while ensuring you don't accidentally trigger the leashing mechanism. With patience and proper positioning, the Spell Brute becomes manageable and will drop valuable gear upon defeat.

Harvesting Shroud Wood

Kill the Spell Brute, then cut the giant mushroom structure inside the Elixir Well with your Axe.

Cutting it down will give you a one-of-a-kind material that can only be obtained once per Elixir Well per character in Enshrouded.

During your exit from the Shroud, take time to gather Shroud Wood from the various trees in the area.

Get some Shroud Wood while within the central Shrouded Zone - the smaller patches near your base don't provide this resource.

Collect around fifty units of Shroud Wood since this resource will come in handy for a majority of crafting activities throughout Enshrouded.

Crafting the Glider

After you have successfully escaped from the Shroud and into an area where fast travel is possible, go back to the Blacksmith to start crafting.

The construction requires Shroud Wood (which you've just harvested), and some String and Fur are also necessary. The rest are relatively easy to get and should not be too much trouble in Enshrouded.

The Glider is attached to your character and does not have any durability loss, so it is a permanent equipment item on you.

You can upgrade the Glider as you go through the game, with more advanced versions providing better performance and new functionalities in Enshrouded.

Using Your New Glider

Since your Glider is installed, you can have air mobility by jumping while flying. The Glider is especially handy in achieving high elevations, making traversing relatively easier than before.
