Ghostwire: Tokyo Guide | How To Cure Affliction Fast
A fast, simple way to cleanse Affliction quickly by reading the first hand-seal cue and completing the full seal right away.

In Ghostwire: Tokyo, Affliction can slow down momentum when fights get messy. The normal cleanse works, but it often feels delayed if you wait for every visual prompt and animation.
A faster approach comes from recognizing the first movement of the seal, then completing the full pattern right away. This method stays simple, but it rewards muscle memory and quick hands.
Understand What Makes This Method Faster
The standard cleanse still uses the same hand-seal system. The difference is timing. Instead of waiting for the full seal to appear, you react the moment the first movement shows up.
That first motion is the clue that tells you which seal is coming. From there, the full input can be performed instantly, without sitting through extra pacing.
Memorize The Two Hand Seals First
Speed only works if the two seal patterns are already remembered. The First Hand Seal looks like a Shuriken shape. It starts from the top, goes down toward the right, moves across to the left, then goes back up again.
The Second Hand Seal looks like a broken Hourglass. It starts on the upper left, goes down to the lower right, moves to the left, then finishes on the upper right.

Read The First Movement As The Instant Indicator
When the cleanse begins, the first visible motion is the giveaway. That first stroke is the indicator for which seal must be performed.
If the motion begins from the upper left, it points to the Second Hand Seal pattern. This is the key moment that removes hesitation. Once the first movement is recognized, the full seal can be completed immediately.

Perform The Full Seal Immediately
After the first motion appears, complete the entire hand seal right away. Do not wait for the rest of the seal to fully display. Do not wait for Akito to finish any extra animation beats. The goal is to input the whole pattern as soon as the cue appears, so the cleanse finishes faster and feels more responsive.

Finish The Cleanse With The Right Inputs
During the fast method, the seal should be performed with the same control input used for the action. Press R3 to execute the seal without waiting.
After that, press L2 and R2 to release the energy and complete the cleanse. This final release matters, because the seal input alone is not the full finish.

Practice Until The Timing Feels Automatic
This technique becomes smooth with repetition. The goal is to see the first movement and instantly know the correct seal. With enough practice, the input becomes quick and easy, and the cleanse feels “easy peasy” without delays.
It can also make KK’s usual help feel slower by comparison, even though KK remains central to having these abilities in the first place.
Common Mistakes That Slow You Down
Most slow cleanses come from waiting too long. Hesitation usually happens when the seal is not fully memorized, or when the full on-screen shape is waited on instead of reacting to the first motion.
Another slowdown is forgetting the energy release step. If L2 and R2 are not pressed after the seal, the cleanse does not finish cleanly, and the rhythm breaks.
