In Hollow Knight Silksong, Shell Shards are used to fix your gear and make sure your character is always ready for the tasks that lie ahead.

You can get Shell Shards and use them in different ways throughout your trip in Pharloom. This guide will show you how to do that.

Shell Shards Overview

Shell Shards can be used to craft tools for the Hornet and to repair broken tools during her journey. Shell Shards, unlike Rosaries, stay with you even after you die.

This makes them a reliable item that you won't lose when facing tough bosses or navigating challenging areas in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

How to Get Shell Shards

Killing enemies in Pharloom will let you gather Shell Shards. As a Loot for killing an enemy, you will get both Shell Shards and Rosaries. To get the most Shell Shards, go into places with a lot of enemies over and over again.

This way makes new enemies appear so that you can keep farming resources. Early game areas are significant for this approach because enemies move more slowly and don't pose as much of a threat while you gather materials in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Shell Shard Deposits appear as figures scattered across different areas on the map. When you come across these piles, hit them with your weapon to get all the Shell Shards they hold.

These sources have a lot of Shell Shards, so you should go after them right away if you find them while exploring.

How To Use Shell Shards

Your character carries several tools that can be used as Throwable Weapons in addition to Needle Attacks.

You can see how long each Tool lasts by looking at the Tool Meter, located next to your Silk Meter in the upper left corner of your screen in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

As soon as you rest on a Bench, the game uses up the necessary Shell Shards to fix the Tool you are using at the time.

This process restores the Tool to full durability, fills the circular meter, and prepares it for use in battle again in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
