Game Guide by Subyunplugged on  Feb 25, 2026

If you are starting Mewgenics, you need to understand how the main systems work together. You will manage vendors, take care of your house, breed cats, build a team, and go on adventures. Each section connects to the next. When you understand the basics, your runs will feel more controlled and less random.

Vendors

As you play, you will unlock different vendors. Some appear early. Others show up after you progress. Most of your upgrades come from them, so you should check them often.

One of the first vendors you meet is Butch. He acts as a tutorial NPC. He teaches you about combat and adventures during your first run. After you unlock your house, you can send retired cats to Butch. These are cats that have already gone on adventures. In return, he upgrades your item storage. As the story moves forward, Butch also unlocks new classes for you. When his icon appears, visit him.

Next, you meet Tinkle, also called Tink. He teaches you how breeding works. Sometimes he reminds you about game systems if you forget. When you upgrade Tink, you can see base stats and family trees. This helps you plan breeding and aim for better stats or mutations.

Frank is simple. You send him retired cats. He upgrades your house, giving you more space for more cats.

Baby Jack sells furniture. You place this furniture in your house to improve house stats. These stats affect breeding and stray cats. You upgrade Baby Jack by sending injured cats.

Tracy runs the shop. She sells items and consumables for adventures. When you upgrade her by sending cats aged five or older, she unlocks upgrades like food storage and the Blank Collar.

Dr. Beanies is the first NPC you see in the story. He takes mutated cats and gives you side quests. These quests make your run harder, but you get items and coins in return. Do not rush these quests. Make sure your team is organized.

After you lose your first run, you meet the Mystery Man. He takes dead cats from your house or from a failed run. He lets you recover items so you do not lose everything after defeat.

The House

Your house is your main hub. This is where you breed cats, manage resources, and prepare for adventures.

Your house has several stats. These stats affect how your cats behave and grow.

Comfort affects how often cats breed or fight. Early in the game, you get cats from breeding or from strays. If cats do not breed, you cannot grow your team. If they fight, they can get injured or die. Keep Comfort high to reduce fights and support breeding.

Stimulation affects the quality of kittens. Kittens inherit stats and traits from their parents. Higher Stimulation gives you a better chance of getting stronger traits from both parents.

Health affects lifespan and the likelihood of developing or curing disorders each night. If Health is low, cats may experience negative effects. Clean waste at the start of each day to help keep Health high.

Mutations increase the chance for cats to gain mutations. Some mutations are helpful. Some are not. Even negative ones can still be useful in some cases.

Appeal is shown at the top of the screen. It affects the quality of stray cats. Strays show up each day with random stats and traits. Higher Appeal means better strays. Try to raise it early.

You improve house stats by adding furniture. You can get furniture from Cardboard Boxes during adventures or by buying from Baby Jack.

To breed, you need cats of different sexes. Some cats have a question mark sex. They can breed with any cat.

At the top right of the house screen, you see food, the number of cats, and coins. Each cat eats one food per day. If you run out of food, cats will starve and may die. Make sure every cat is inside before ending the day. Coins are used in the shop. Food and coins collected during adventures return to your house.

Outside, you will see the Adventure Box. Place four adult cats inside to start a run. This is how you begin an adventure.

Statistics and Classes

Each cat has stats. These stats affect combat.

Strength increases melee damage.

Dexterity increases ranged damage.

The Constitution increases health and post-combat recovery.

Intelligence increases mana regeneration.

Speed affects turn order and movement range.

Charisma increases max and starting mana.

Luck affects critical chance and random outcomes.

When you start an adventure, you assign a class, also called a Collar. Starting stats help you decide which class fits best. It is better to assign a class early in the game.

You start with four classes.

Fighter: +2 Strength, +1 Speed, -1 Intelligence. Focuses on melee attacks.

Hunter: +3 Dexterity, +2 Luck, -1 Constitution, -2 Speed. Focuses on ranged attacks. Cannot hit enemies too close.

Tank: +4 Constitution, -1 Intelligence, -1 Dexterity. Takes hits and stays in front.

Mage: +2 Intelligence, +2 Charisma, -1 Constitution, -1 Strength. Uses spells.

Later, you unlock two more.

Cleric: +2 Charisma, +2 Constitution, -1 Speed, -1 Dexterity. Heals and supports the team.

Thief: +4 Speed, +1 Luck, -1 Strength, -1 Constitution. Moves fast and focuses on critical hits.

Try to balance your team before each run. A mix of roles helps you survive longer.

Adventures

Adventures are where you test your setup. You choose four adult cats from your house. After that, you assign their classes. Once chosen, you cannot change classes during that run.

Each cat has five equipment slots: Weapon, Head Armor, Body Armor, Face Armor, and one Trinket/Consumable slot.

Weapons and armor are fixed types. The last slot can hold either a consumable or a trinket. Consumables are used during battle. Trinkets give passive effects.

In the top left of each item, you can see where it fits. If you see a W in the top right, the item is worn. Worn items have a 50% chance to break in future runs.

On the map, you will see different symbols.

Skull means combat.

White Skull — Basic fight.

Red Skull — Hard fight.

Purple Skull — Mini Boss.

Red Skull With Eyebrows — Boss fight.

Question Mark means an event. Events give choices. Results depend on your stats. Chest gives an item. And the shop lets you spend coins. Basic shops sell Rare Candy, which levels up your lowest-level cat.

A cardboard box serves as furniture. The Meat or Money Symbol gives extra resources. Home lets you end the stage early.

Later, you may unlock a hard route. It gives tougher fights and better rewards. Weather effects can also appear and affect combat during that stage.

Combat

Combat is turn-based. Speed decides who goes first. You can see the turn order at the top right. During a turn, you can move, use an item, use a weapon, cast a spell, or use a basic attack. Movement range depends on Speed. Spells require mana. Basic attacks depend on your class. Before attacking, check the enemy's stats and abilities. This helps you arrange your moves.

If a cat reaches zero HP, it becomes downed. It is not dead yet. A skull icon shows how many more hits it can take before dying. If combat ends while the cat is downed, it stands back up with some health. At the end of each turn, cats gain mana based on Intelligence. Some effects also restore health.

Combat ends when one side is defeated. After winning, your lowest-level cat levels up. You can choose a new trait, ability, or stat increase.

If a fight lasts more than ten rounds, Exhaustion starts. Each round under exhaustion deals one damage to all your cats and reduces mana gain by one. It cannot be removed. Finish fights quickly to avoid this.
