Here's a simple guide on how to complete all the quests

You have two main types of quests: Invention Quests and Story Quests. They work in different ways.

Invention Quests are side challenges. They are not tied to the main story. You complete them, get a reward, and increase your completion rate. An early example is the quest from Dr. Beanies, where you receive the Persuasion Device. These quests are optional and mostly for fun or extra items.

Story Quests are tied to bosses and progression. They unlock new zones and lead you forward in the game. Most of them begin after defeating specific house bosses and receiving special items. These items change how your run works and must be delivered to certain locations.

Story Quests – Act One

Guillotina

Your first major house boss is Guillotina. After defeating her, you receive several quest items across multiple encounters.

Throbbing Gristle

You must take Throbbing Gristle to the Wall of Flesh in the caves. While carrying it, any unit that goes down dies permanently. There is no down state. The item can also be used as a melee weapon. Enemies killed with it drop meat. You must play carefully and avoid losing any cats.

Putrid Leech

You take Putrid Leech to the Throbbing Artery in the Boneyard. The cat holding it cannot level up and dies instantly when downed. You must protect this cat at all costs. In return, all attacks gain life steal. It is safer to place this on a ranged unit so they can stay behind the team.

Both of these quests are risky because death is permanent. You may want to prepare a strong cat before attempting them.

Completing these unlocks the Throbbing Domain and later access to the Meat Altar.

Guillotina's Head

After the final fight with Guillotina, you receive Guillotina's Head. You take it to the Meat Altar in the Throbbing Domain. While carrying it, every battle becomes hard. Enemies will focus on the cat wearing the mask if possible. The item gives a chance to inflict fear.

At the end of this quest, you must sacrifice the cat wearing the head to unlock the rest of the zone. Do not use a cat you want to keep long-term.

Story Quests – Act Two

Scalding Orb

After defeating Pyrofina, you receive the Scalding Orb. You must feed it to the Moonman. It gives +3 speed but applies 3 burn each turn. You will need healing or water to manage this.

When you reach the Moon boss, letting the orb holder get bitten ends the fight instantly and completes the quest.

Black Shard

After defeating Zartana, you receive the Black Shard. First, you must kill 20 enemies with it to transform it into the Glowing Black Shard. Progress carries between runs.

Once transformed, it deals damage with life steal and burn. When used against the Coven boss, it instantly kills the boss.

Completing both the Moon and Coven quests activates two obelisks. After that, you choose between Pyrofina and Zartana using their collars. They join your run and help activate the act's final event.

Story Quests – Act Three

Cryogenic Time Chamber

After clearing the labs, Dr. Beanies asks you to repair a time machine. You receive the Cryogenic Time Chamber. You must place the Throbbing King's Heart inside it.

While carrying it, all enemy bodies revive at 30% health each round, except bosses. You must destroy corpses fully. Even one damage is enough to remove a body. Long-range units or necromancer abilities help here.

Completing this unlocks the time machine and new eras.

Time Machine Quests

Receiver Antenna

Set the receiver antenna in the Jurassic Era. You get a shield, and events have additional consequences. Results differ with each run.

Transmitter Antenna

Place the Transmitter Antenna in the future. Spells cost less mana, but each cast scrambles that spell for the rest of the run. You must adapt as your skills change.

Signal Amplifier

Place the Signal Amplifier in the rift on the floating head. A robot with madness spawns each battle. You can energize robots to boost their stats. This quest increases difficulty and pushes you toward the true ending.

Invention Quests

Invention quests are separate from the main story. They change the rules of your run and give you a reward item once you complete them. Each one adds a condition that makes the game harder or different, but the reward usually balances it out.

With the Persuasion Device, you must charm a non-boss enemy so they join your team. Once done, you unlock the item as a reward. In Bubble Boy, all units bounce when they touch each other. After finishing it, you receive Bubbles, which can inflict confusion on enemies.

In Angry Face, the equipped cat becomes hostile during battle. When you complete it, you gain Happy Face, which grants extra AI turns. The Loner quest removes your allies at the start of battle. The reward is Loner Mark 2, which deals damage to enemies in sight.

With Experimental Treatment, passive upgrades turn into disorders. After completing it, you get Disordered Decoder, which lowers spell cost for each disorder. Chaos Device mixes level-up options from every class. The reward, Chaos Controller, lets you reroll upgrades.

In Redacted, you cannot see health bars. The reward is a Paper Bag, which sets charisma to the same value. Storage Locker turns active upgrades into rare items, and you receive the Armory Key for more loot.

When using the Magic Mirror (Broken), events have worse outcomes, but you gain thorns. Completing it gives you the Fixed Magic Mirror, which reflects projectiles. Me Stone allows only one cat to level up. The reward is Suck Stone, which drains mana from enemies.

With Unidentified Pills, the adventure becomes harder. The reward is Truck Stop Pills, which grant a brace. In Glass Cannon, the map fills with glass tiles. The reward lets you fire a glass ball.

Ultravision 3000 makes events harder, but the reward grants luck and marked attacks. Mysterious Dice randomizes level-up choices. After finishing it, you receive D6, which upgrades one ability.

In Party Detonator, units explode when they die. The reward is a controlled detonator that you can use when needed. Nuclear Knife builds charge each turn, and the reward is Nuclear Gun.

With Princess Hat, you gain a shield but have limited actions. The reward is the Used Princess Hat. Spider Injector starts allies with infestation, and the reward is Spider Baby, which infests enemies instead.

In Fart Face, all units begin poisoned. The reward is Robo Fart Face, which poisons enemies only. Stopwatch limits your decision time in battle. Completing it gives you a Fixed Stopwatch, which grants extra AI turns.

Finally, Airhorn causes ambushes at the start of battles. The reward is Amplified Airhorn, which applies madness to enemies. You can activate more than one invention quest in the same run if you want more challenge and more rewards.
