Mewgenics Guide | How to Breed Cats with Perfect Stats

Here’s an easy guide on breeding cats with perfect stats

Game Guide by Subaiyta Jahan on  Feb 25, 2026

The focus here is only on base stats. Passing down passives and mutations also matters, but those parts become easier once you reach later stages of the game. Here, you will learn how to control stats and build a strong bloodline from the start.

You should know that some mechanics require upgrades from certain NPCs. To make this system work well, you will need access to more detailed breeding information. Keep that in mind as you progress.

Basics of Breeding

When two cats have a kitten, that kitten inherits stats based on the parents’ base stats. Base stats mean the numbers before collars, mutations, injuries, or disorders are applied.

The kitten has a good chance of inheriting mutations from the parents. It has a lower chance to inherit passives or skills.

Your room’s Stimulation stat plays an important role. The higher the Stimulation, the better your chance of the kitten inheriting the higher stat from each parent.

You must also avoid inbreeding too much. Cats become inbred if they breed with close relatives such as parents or grandparents, or if the bloodline lacks new genetics. Heavy inbreeding increases the chance of negative mutations that lower stats. Since mutations are easier to get later in the game, you should not inbreed just to chase them.

Cats also have hidden traits. These include sexuality, libido, aggression, fondness for other cats, and inbreeding level. Male and female cats can produce kittens if their sexuality and libido allow it. To see these hidden traits, you need to level up your relationship with Tink. Prioritize this. Without that information, you may try breeding cats that will never produce kittens together.

What You Need Before Starting

You can begin with two rooms, but you should unlock three rooms as soon as possible.

You will also need to donate kittens to Tink. After donating at least eleven kittens, you can see the base stats. If you donate forty-one kittens, you unlock more detailed preference information. Donate most early kittens unless you create a strong future breeder.

Furniture is also important. It increases breeding chances. Some furniture improves the chance of passing down stronger stats. Collect Cardboard Boxes during adventures and place furniture in your breeding room.

How To Start Your Farm

Each day, a stray cat appears at your door. If that stray has a seven in any stat, accept it and place it in your first room. This room becomes your breeding room.

In the early game, place most of your furniture in this room. Raise Comfort and Stimulation as much as you can.

If a stray does not have a seven in any stat, do not ignore it. Place it in your attic. This attic acts as your barracks. You store average cats there until you have four. Then send them on an adventure. After the adventure, donate them to NPCs such as Frank or Butch. This helps you unlock house upgrades and storage space.

Think of these average cats as resources. You convert them into upgrades by sending them away.

Later, a mechanic will appear that may make you keep certain adventure cats. When that happens, keep only cats with strong stats and good passives.

Once you collect several strays with sevens in different stats and place them in your breeding room, they will produce kittens.

When a kitten is born, check its stats. If it inherits both parents’ highest stat, keep it. This kitten becomes your new main breeder, also called your stud.

If it does not inherit both high stats, donate it to Tink or move it to the attic for adventures.

If you cannot see sexuality yet through Tink, breed the parents again until you get two strong kittens of opposite sexes. This increases your chance of continuing the bloodline.

Once you secure your new stud, remove the parents from the breeding room. Send them to an NPC or move them to the attic. They have served their purpose.

Now, look for new straws with a seven in a stat your stud does not have. Place them in the breeding room with your stud. Repeat this process as you expand your house.

Upgrading to Three Rooms

When you unlock a third room, your setup changes.

Your first room remains the breeding room. Keep your stud there with selected strays. Focus on high Stimulation in this room to improve stat inheritance.

Your second room becomes what you can think of as the family room. This is where strong bloodline cats live. Keep Comfort and Health high here to prevent fights and extend lifespan.

Two types of cats go into this room. First, parents who successfully produced a stud. Second, kittens that inherited many high stats but did not achieve the perfect combination.

These cats can produce strong adventure cats. However, since many are related, mild inbreeding may occur. Mild inbreeding is manageable. Heavy inbreeding is not.

The mix of cats in this room creates three outcomes. Sometimes, you may get a better stud. More often, you get strong cats suitable for adventures. Occasionally, you may produce heavily inbred cats. Send those to Dr. Beanies for side quests.

Your third room remains the barracks. Place strong but non-breeding cats here. These cats go on missions.

For the barracks, keep Comfort low and Mutation high. This increases the chance of fights or mutations before missions. Some cats may gain useful effects before leaving.

Marking and Organization

To stay organized, mark your tasks.

Mark cats that produced your studs as part of your main bloodline.

Mark strays with the stat they provide.

Mark kittens that join the family room but are not studs.

Mark mission-ready cats with a symbol to show they are for combat, not breeding.

Clear markings prevent confusion as your house fills up.

Managing Food and Population

Upgrade food storage early by donating cats to the correct NPC.

Keep fewer than twenty cats in your house at one time. Too many cats increase daily food use. If food runs out, you lose breeding time.

Send weaker cats away or send extra kittens on adventures. Try to breed for as many days as possible before going on a mission. You can wait until the food is nearly gone before leaving for an adventure.

Breeding works like chance. Each new day is another opportunity to produce a better stud. The more days you breed, the better your odds.

Building a Line of Perfect Cats

Once you create one cat with perfect sevens, the next step is building a full line.

One plan is to breed your perfect stud with a distant relative that has mostly sevens. This may produce slightly inbred kittens with perfect stats.

After that, breed those perfect cats with strays. This reduces inbreeding while keeping high stats. Their children, who will be cousins, can breed together for the next generation.

By alternating between breeding with strays and breeding cousins, you can maintain genetic diversity while keeping sevens in the bloodline.

You may also create combat-only cats by breeding cousins together. These cats may be too inbred to continue the line, but they can serve as strong mission units.

You can even divide the family tree into two branches if your home is upgraded to include more rooms. Later, breed their offspring together to maintain high statistics while updating genetics.

With patience and steady management, you can build a stable system that continues producing cats with perfect sevens.
