Mewgenics Guide | How to Defeat Johnny the Bunker Boss

When you face Johnny in The Bunker during Act Two, you need to understand one key rule. The fight is not about bringing him down. It is about stopping his power from activating.

Johnny is harmless at the start. He only becomes dangerous when a cultist washes his head. Watch the animation closely. When you see a cultist washing Johnny’s Head, prepare for his next turn. If his head gets washed, he will use a special move. He can use telekinesis to move your units around. He can also use mind control. When he mind controls one of your cats, that cat performs one action for him. Sometimes that means healing his whole team. That can undo your progress fast.

Only the top tiles count as Johnny’s Head. The lower body tiles cannot be washed. This detail matters. The whole fight revolves around keeping cultists away from those top tiles.

Positioning and Board Control

Your main goal is simple. Do not let cultists touch Johnny’s Head.

If Johnny does not get washed on his turn, he cries and summons a new cultist. The cultist spawns on one of the four map sides. Because of this, your positioning is very important. The best place to stand is next to Johnny. Block his sides and stand near his head. This limits where cultists can move.

From there, use your turns to push enemies away. You are not racing for damage. You are managing space.

Knockback is one of the strongest tools in this fight. The Tank class is very useful here. When you knock cultists away from Johnny, you stop the wash. No wash means no super move. If you keep this up, the fight becomes much safer.

Bleed and Damage Over Time

Damage over time helps a lot in this fight. If you have Thief or any skill that applies bleed, use it early.

Bleed deals damage every turn. That means you can focus on control while Johnny slowly loses health. You do not need to rush him. Just keep cultists away and let the damage build up. This makes the fight more stable and easier to manage.

Hunter Tools for Control

The Hunter has many strong options for this boss.

Fleashot fills the board with small units. These units block paths and distract cultists. They make it harder for enemies to reach Johnny’s head. You can also use Tank’s Bodyguard to swap into a flea’s position when it gets attacked. This helps you hold key spots.

Rubber Arrows give extra value on every shot. Your arrows bounce to nearby enemies, which means more hits and more control. It helps clear space and weaken cultists simultaneously.

Butt Scoop is good for moving enemies out of position. Use it to block paths or push cultists away from the head tiles.

Diversion is one of the best skills for this fight. You throw a distraction that forces a cultist to move away from Johnny. Even if a wash has already started, it can still be interrupted. It can save your run.

Bramble Shot places traps that slow and damage cultists when they move. Slower enemies mean fewer successful washes. This gives you more time each turn.

Mage Control Options

The Mage also performs very well here. You have access to the freeze and stun abilities.

Freeze works every time because Johnny is already wet in this fight. When he is frozen, he skips his action. This is very useful if you fail to stop a wash in time. Freeze him and reset the board.

Stuns also stop his turn. Use them right after a wash to prevent his super move from going off. Control skills are more important than raw damage in this battle.

Ending the Fight

Stick to the basics. Backstab when you can. Always face forward after you move. Keep your formation tight around Johnny. Do not ignore cultists just to hit the boss. Control first. Damage second.

When Johnny dies, the fight is not finished. You must clear all remaining cultists in the room before it ends.

If you block Johnny’s Head, use knockback, apply bleed, and manage space each turn, this fight becomes steady and manageable. Stay patient. Control the board. The win will follow.
