Minecraft Guide: How To Make Copper Golems

Making a copper Golem is as easy as creating a normal Golem, but slightly different.

Minecraft has a vast array of craftable items, and the list continues to grow with each update, mod, or add-on added to the game over time. There are also many creatures that you can either go out and find, or some of which can even craft themselves.

Iron Golems are a really neat feature for any Minecraft base, since they protect against mobs that might want to attack your base or even you. They will attack any hostile mobs that come around and not take hardly any damage. Snow Golems attack mobs differently by throwing snowballs at their attackers, which makes them a bit weaker than the Iron Golem.

Copper Golems are much different than Iron or Snow Golems; their reason for existing is not to defend against hostile mobs, but instead they organize for you. Yes, they organize items within your base for you, and it's a lot cooler than you think.

Copper Golems can automatically sort items between chests. When you craft the Golem, it will spawn with a copper chest. If you place a regular chest not far from it, it will sort all the items placed into the iron chests into regular chests based on the items that are already inside. This makes keeping your base organized after going on supply runs much easier.

How To Make a Copper Golem in Minecraft

Making a copper Golem is as easy as creating a normal Golem, but slightly different. You will only need two copper blocks and a craver pumpkin or a jack o'lantern; either will do. Then, simply stack the two copper blocks on top of each other and place the pumpkin head on top; it will then spawn the Golem.

Note that Copper Golems are not available without creating a new world that has Experiments enabled. This is because Copper Golems are something Minecraft's developers are still working on before introducing them in a brand new update before the end of the year.

When the Copper Golem spawns, it will spawn with a copper chest underneath it. This will be important for it to be programmed to sort your items. This copper chest will be the chest where you can bulk dump all of your items, so that the Copper Golem can organize the items into other chests. But, if you don't already have a storage room with chests created, you will want to make one.

The Copper Golem can only sort items from the copper chest into other chests if they already have items within them, allowing it to know where to place them. It will then stack items of the same type. You can wax the Copper Golem to keep it from oxidizing over time.

As of right now, Copper Golems are only available through Minecraft Experimental Features, but they will be added at the third update drop for 2025. The Copper Golems are also not yet available in Java, but are promised for Java Snapshots.
