This guide will cover general principles and a specific strategy for the final boss found in Rogue Angel mode.
General Boss Fight Principles
You must remain in constant motion. Use your Dash, Jump, and Slide to avoid attacks, as standing still will lead to a quick death. Your primary goal, apart from survival, is to build the boss's Stagger Gauge.

You can do this by persistently dealing damage, especially with elemental effects like cold, electric, or fire from your weapon upgrades.
When a boss is staggered, it is vulnerable. This is your main opportunity to deal significant damage, often by attacking revealed weak points.
Boss Strategy: Orion the Blood Swarm
At the end of a Rogue Angel run, you will face Orion the Blood Swarm. This fight is divided into two main phases. In the first phase, Orion will be on the ground, rushing you down with lunging attacks.
You must use your Dash to dodge these incoming lunges while continuously dealing as much damage as you can. You can also use the arena to your advantage.

Look to the outer edges, where you can shoot Eyeballs on the walls. This will spawn an Explosive Barrel, which you can use for extra damage.
The second phase begins when the boss jumps onto the large Bell in the center of the arena. From this position, it will start sending out waves of blood.
You must identify and react to three different attack patterns. You will need to strafe back and forth to avoid the tall, individual waves. You must jump over the waves that travel along the ground.

Finally, you must slide under the circular waves that travel at face height. During this Bell phase, you should use any weapon upgrades you have acquired that have the sticky property.
This allows you to attach projectiles directly to the boss, which will continually sap its health and rapidly build its Stagger Gauge.
When Orion is fully staggered, it will slump over, revealing several Weak Spot Eyeballs. You must focus all your fire on these weak spots.

Each Eyeball you destroy will spit out a helpful consumable item, such as a Health Flask or an Ammo Restock, giving you the resources you need to finish the fight.
