Welcome to Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis, a seamless open world on planet Halpha where early choices shape progression. This condensed guide prioritizes the exact steps and systems that accelerate leveling, unlock power fast, and prepare you for endgame. Follow the story to learn movement, combat, and upgrades while building a foundation of Skill Points, augments, and add-ons that keep scaling as content expands.
Pick and Swap Classes

Choose any class and switch at the Class Counter whenever you want. Hunter favors survivability and Hunter Arts Avenger timing with Swords, Partizans, and Wired Lances. Fighter trades safety for burst through Overload with Twin Daggers, Knuckles, and Double Sabers. Ranger supports with Blight Rounds using Rifles and Launchers.
Gunner chains damage via Chain Trigger with Twin Machine Guns. Force wields elemental Techniques on Rods and Talises, while Techter blends melee and support with Wands, Shifta, and Deband.
Post-prologue, hybrids open up: Braver (Katana, Bullet Bow), Bouncer (Jet Boots, Soaring Blades), Waker (Harmonizer familiars), and Slayer (Gunblade) for crit-centric melee. Unlock a Subclass early—most subclass passives work even if you do not equip its weapon.
Early Power Path
Complete Cocoons to earn Skill Points, toggle Mag Sonar to find red containers, and activate every Ryuker Device for fast travel. Equip the early Renaissa series, upgrade its Weapon Potential, and experiment with Multi-weapon combinations to cover mobility, gap-closing, and burst.
Visit class masters near Central City to learn fundamentals and reset skills freely while testing builds. Enable auto-send to Material Storage to keep your bag clear, claim the daily SG Scratch, and progress story checkpoints that award upgrade items and cosmetics.
Region Order and What To Do There
Push the main story through Aelio, Retem, Kvaris, and Stia. In each region, finish every Cocoon, clear the Ordinal Tower tiers available, and explore for red containers that drop Meseta, Star Gems, and key materials.
In Retem, practice evasion and timing in the Geometric Labyrinth. In Kvaris, apply stronger augments such as Mastery IV alongside Might IV, Precision IV, or Technique IV. In Stia, gather Infernium from invisible boxes or storm nodes, trade it at Stia Camp, and round out Add-On Skills that spike critical rate during down phases.
Leveling, Dailies, and Group Play

Story quests provide enough EXP to cap a first class, while Combat Sectors grant boosted gains if leveling alts. Pick up weeklies and dailies from Liam and explore side tasks from Archie for Genesis Points (GP).
Join an Alliance to unlock alliance weeklies, an Alliance Badge Shop, and access to Urgent Quest Triggers. Treat random Urgent Quests as bonus loot rather than necessities until you meet their level and Battle Power requirements.
Midgame Gear Check
Aim for a modern 10-star main weapon and sturdy nine-star units rather than clinging to early welfare sets. Upgrade to +80 with Arms Refiners, raise Weapon Potential high, and apply efficient augments.
Starter builds mix LC Augments from Leciel Exploration with one main damage augment that matches your attack type. Add a Preset Skill (Fixa)—any level is better than none—and reroll later. Remember that Battle Power rises additively while augments scale multiplicatively, so optimized augments increase real damage far more than the BP number suggests.
Leciel Exploration and Tech Arts
Unlock Leciel Exploration for eight-player runs where the first half stacks buffs and the second half challenges a boss with shared revives. Rewards include Growthment, LC Augments, and Tech Arts Customization discs.
Use Tech Arts Customization to upgrade and reshape Photon Arts and Techniques; many tweaks deliver large comfort and damage gains and are central to the endgame feel.
Exchanges and Reliable Income

Convert duplicates at the Item Recycle Exchange, claim weekly ARKS Records for ARKS Record Badges, and craft targeted 10-star options at the Item Exchange in Kvaris once enough cubes and spheres are earned.
Farm Aegis Integra from Dark Falz content and trade for high-demand augment capsules. Keep an eye on mineral-based capsules like Photon Quartz, which remain consistently valuable.
Endgame Targets and Skill Ceilings
Tackle Major Target Suppression for tight four-player boss checks with limited incaps and short timers. If runs feel rough, invest in Add-On Skills using Master Cubes from titles and Master Shards from the GP shop to reach Lv. 20 add-ons quickly.
When ready, sample Duel Quests for premium capsules and profit, and clear Geometric Labyrinth Rank 2 for a skill test and a payout of Aegis Integra on first clear.
Fashion and Star Gems
Build a wardrobe through daily SG Scratch, weekly ARKS Records, Special Scratch, and seasonal events. Interact with Lookbooks and Creative Spaces for extra SG, and leverage Alliance shops for steady cosmetics and currency. Avoid buying outdated capsules or class cubes from the SG Treasure Shop to save resources for relevant upgrades.
Quick Checklist

Prioritize the main story through Stia, clear every Cocoon and Ordinal Tower, craft a 10-star weapon with strong augments and a Fixa, farm Leciel Exploration for LC Augments and Tech Arts Customization, join an Alliance, and practice on Major Targets before stepping into Duel Quests. With these pieces in place, you will handle Urgent Quests, region bosses, and late-game grinds efficiently while steadily increasing power and income.
