Mega Evolutions introduce a powered-up transformation that enhances certain Pokémon beyond their usual forms. In this state, Pokémon gain stat improvements, access to Plus Moves, and a new appearance during battle.

This feature becomes available after completing a certain task. To get the most out of your Pokémon in fight, you need to learn how to use it well.
Understanding Mega Evolutions
Mega Evolution is a temporary transformation available to select Pokémon when they hold a Mega Stone. During battle, you can activate this form by pressing the right analog stick on the Joy-Con.
When this effect is used, your Pokémon changes into its Mega Evolved form, which gives it better stats and more ways to fight. Your Mega Energy meter must be on for this change to last.

Stat Changes After Mega Evolution
When you Mega Evolve a Pokémon, it receives a total of at least 100 additional stat points, distributed across its six main stats. This stat increase strengthens your Pokémon during combat and can significantly influence its performance.
There are some exceptions, including Mega Starmie and Mega Medicham, which both gain a total of 140 stat points, and Mega Mawile, which receives 142.
Unlocking Mega Evolution
You gain access to Mega Evolution after completing Main Mission 9: A Rogue Mega Absol. Defeating Rogue Mega Absol unlocks the ability to Mega Evolve your Pokémon.
You won't be able to use Mega Evolution during this fight, so make sure your team has Fighting, Bug, or Fairy-type Pokémon to protect against Absol's Dark-type weapons.

Using the Mega Evolution Meter
At the bottom right of your screen, you’ll notice a meter that fills with Mega Energy. Once it’s full, you can Mega Evolve your Pokémon. Maintaining the Mega form gradually drains this meter, as does using Plus Moves during combat.
Managing this energy is crucial to keeping your Pokémon active in its evolved state.
If you find yourself in a poor matchup, you can switch out your Mega Evolved Pokémon. Doing so will end the Mega form, allowing you to bring in a teammate with a better type advantage while conserving energy.
Obtaining Mega Stones
A Pokémon must have the right Mega Stone in order to Mega Evolve. There are different ways to get these stones in the game. Some are part of the story, and others can be bought at the Stone Emporium or from Quasartico Inc.
At the Stone Emporium, you can buy Mega Stones with standard currency. At Quasartico Inc., Mega Stones are exchanged for Mega Shards, a different resource used specifically for this purpose.
Keep track of available stones to expand the number of Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution.
