If you want a quick Electric-type early in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, Tadbulb is a simple pickup. It spawns close to a main city and sits right by the water, so you do not need a long trip. The evolution is also easy. You just use one item, and the change happens right away.

Where To Find Tadbulb Early

Tadbulb can be found quite early, and it usually hangs out by rivers. Open your map and head to the main city area shown in the route. From there, go through the gate and move down toward the river. Once you reach the water, you should see several Tadbulb already roaming around. They are low-level, so catching one is quick.

Catch Tadbulb By The River

When you reach the riverbank, look for the small Electric-type Pokémon moving near the water. Walk up, start the encounter, and catch Tadbulb. Since multiple can spawn in the same spot, you can pick one fast and continue without waiting.

How To Evolve Tadbulb Into Bellibolt

To evolve Tadbulb into Bellibolt, you need a Thunder Stone. Open your bag, select the Thunder Stone, and use it on Tadbulb. The evolution triggers immediately, so there is no level requirement and no extra steps.

Where To Buy A Thunder Stone

Thunder Stones are sold in stores, so you do not need to rely on random drops. Go to Delibird Presents, which is found in every town, and buy a Thunder Stone there. The stone costs 3,000, so it is affordable early if you have done a few battles and pickups.
