Once you climb back to the surface from the Ancient Depths, follow the trail until you reach the Echelon III Camp. Look for a large dome building. Inside, go to the table sitting right under the broken Primary unit to grab the Echelon data core.

Take the core through the side exit rather than the way you entered. You will need to jump and dash over a gap to reach a teleporter. Activating it will send you back to The Passage in Saros.

Back at The Passage

A scene will play where Arjun, Kayla, and Sheridan look at the data. The files seem empty, but Kayla notices the last entry was made hundreds of years ago, which makes no sense. After Arjun vents his frustration about the Echelon colony and Carcosa, you are free to walk around.

Take this time to talk to Sheridan and Kayla. You can trade your Lucenite and Halcyon with Primary. This is also the first time you can go into the Banyan Tree near Sebastian. This area triggers a strange vision that takes Arjun back to Earth and hints at his history.

The Journey to the Colony

When you are finished, talk to Primary and use the World Dial. Pick Shattered Descent - Colony and step into the teleporter. This is also when Carcosan Modifiers become available. You can use these to make your next runs harder or easier depending on how you want to play.

Once you land back at the colony, Arjun will scan for signals. Drop down and walk back toward the camp clearing. Look for the raised terminals on the opposite side of the dome you visited earlier in Saros.

Unlocking the Grapple

Use the terminal to get the Grapple skill. This lets you press Triangle to zip toward purple points found in every part of the world.

Before leaving the camp, look around for high spots you can now reach. You can find extra Lucenite, resource pillars, and various logs hidden nearby.

Entering the Ruins

When you are ready, use the Grapple to cross the large gap and take the elevator down. Unlike other areas, you must summon the Eclipse immediately to get the front gate to open.

As you explore the rest of this area, watch out for small pods with three claws. They shoot Yellow shots that follow you when you get close, but you can break them easily with your weapons in Saros.
