Which Weapons to use

Your regular attack with the sword or axe will simply go through the creature without doing any damage. That's because Will-o-Wisps are resistant to standard physical attacks. You can't damage them with standard weapons, regardless of how high your character level is. You’ll need magic to defeat Will-o-The-Wisp in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

If you find enchanted arrows, you can also use those to kill the Will-o-The-Wisp in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. However, it is not guaranteed that it will cause any damage. So it is recommended to stick to either spells or magical weapons.

How to Kill Will-o-The-Wisp

To kill a Will-o-Wisp in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, you can use magic spells or a magical weapon. If you're a mage or can cast spells, then a fire damage spell or some other attack-type magic will do. Casting damage spells directly at the Will-o-Wisp is one of the easiest ways to kill it. But if you don’t want to kill it by casting spells, you can use an enchanted weapon. Enchanted weapons already possess magic, such as fire damage or magic when used. As long as your weapon magically attacks, it will kill the Will-o-Wisp. Essentially, any magical weapon will work.

Nearly every time you kill a Will-o-The-Wisp, it will drop Glow Dust. The item is valuable and can be used in different quests and alchemy potions, so if you want to farm Glow Dust, this can be a good option in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

Will-o-The-Wisp Location

In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, you will find Will-o-Wisps in a few specific locations throughout the game. One location is Greyrock Cave. At level 22, you can find Will-o-Wisps in this location. Whether they can be found at lower levels is unknown, but if you are at that level or higher, you should be able to find them. Will-o-The-Wisp can also be found near the Azura Shrine, particularly if you are completing a specific quest related to the main storyline. Additionally, they often appear in caves filled with monsters. If you go into these areas, you might encounter one or two.
