Certain areas in The Outer Worlds 2 contain hazardous Zyranium areas, which slowly deplete your health over time.

To survive the Zyranium zone or be slightly resistant to it, there will be a device that gives you temporary protection.

It doesn’t last forever, and your health still depletes as it’s active; it just minimizes the damage you take, and it can come in handy for short explorations.

It’s a necessary item to have often, and you have to do quest lines that will require you to travel through these toxic areas, making the upgrade worthwhile.

Get your hands on this device, you will have to complete the side quest for Chief Deviser Delphina Byrant. You can find her in the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center, around the south-eastern side of the map.

The repair center is a restricted zone, so you most likely get the guards to open fire if you attempt to sneak in, making the entire operation risky.

To have legitimate access, you will need to get a security pass. The card can be acquired by heading to the Ministry of Accuracy, which you’ll find on the western side of the map.

Inside the facility, go to the main building with the workbench and head to the top, where you’ll be able to interact with a bunch of computers until you reach the top, where you can print an access card.

This entire thing will be its own separate side quest. Once printed, head back to the Automech Repair Center and access the area with the card.

There will be a barrier in front of the security guards that turned blue; this will indicate that you do have permission to go inside. Usually, it stays red and displays a trespassing warning.

Make your way to Delphinia and do her quest, which is pretty simple, giving you the Deflection Apparatus.
