Radeon RX 9070 XT is revisited to compare performance with the latest display drivers against the data originally collected for the day-one review. Sixteen games are retested with the same settings to determine whether the changes reported by users are due to driver or game updates, or both.
GeForce RTX 5070Ti is included to help identify whether gains apply across both architectures or are specific to Radeon drivers. The test system uses a 9800X3D with 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 memory and the latest build of Windows 11.

Test Overview
We compare the 9070 XT and 5070 Ti using previously gathered review data and the latest drivers. Eighteen games were originally included, but Marvel Rivals was dropped because the previous replay is invalid, and War Thunder was removed due to stability issues affecting both Radeon and GeForce GPUs. The remaining conditions of the test environment remain consistent with the initial review.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
The game has not received updates this year so that any change would be due to drivers. Both the 9070 XT and 5070Ti show identical performance to the review data at 1440p and 4K.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
The game has not been patched in years, so performance changes result from driver updates. 5070Ti was previously 8% faster, but both now average 122 fps at 1440p. At 4K, both deliver 68 fps, which is 5% faster than the 5070 Ti.
Cyberpunk 2077
The title has not been updated since January, so gains are driven by drivers. RX 9070 XT is now 4% faster, rather than performing identically as before. The 5070Ti also gains 4%. At 4K, the 5070Ti sees a 9% uplift in 1% lows and matches the 9070 XT.
Dying Light 2
Despite multiple game updates, performance remains unchanged for both GPUs, with less than a 2% difference from the original review.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
No game updates have occurred, and AMD delivers no improvement. GeForce 5070Ti sees a minor 3% gain at 1440p. At 4K, both remain unchanged with less than a 2% deviation.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
The game has not seen updates this year. 9070 XT shows a substantial 27% uplift at 1440p, increasing from 169fps to 214fps, while the 5070Ti becomes 7% slower. The 9070 XT goes from being 8% slower to 24% faster. At 4K, the uplift is 7% for the 9070 XT, and the 5070Ti shows no change.
Hogwarts Legacy
The game has been updated, though not with performance patches. 5070 Ti shows no change, while the 9070 XT gains 18%, improving from 130 fps to 153 fps. At 4K, the uplift is 5%, and the 9070 XT is 10% faster with 30% stronger 1% lows.

The Last of Us Part I
RX 9070 XT shows no change at 1440 p.m. The 5070 Ti becomes 4% slower. At 4K, both remain unchanged.
Star Wars Outlaws
A 3% uplift for the 9070 XT at 1440 p.m. brings it level with the 5070 Ti. At 4K, neither GPU changes, and the 5070Ti holds a slight edge.
Starfield
The 9070 XT gains 5% at 1440p, reaching 83fps. The 5070Ti drops by two fps, landing at 83 fps. At 4K, both average 55fps, unchanged from the review data.
Delta Force
GeForce 5070 Ti becomes 3% slower at 1440p, while the 9070 XT jumps 14%, going from 160fps to 183fps. It moves from 8% slower to 10% faster. At 4K, both now produce the same performance, where the 5070Ti previously held a 7% lead.
God of War Ragnarök
5070Ti improves 2.5%, while the 9070 XT gains 10%, making it 9% faster. At 4K, results remain identical to the original review.
Counter-Strike 2
5070Ti shows no real change. 9070 XT increases 23%, moving from 10% slower to 10% faster. At 4K, it gains 14% but remains 4% behind in averages while leading in 1% lows.
Stalker 2
The game has been updated, but the 5070Ti shows no change. 9070 XT gains 12%, reaching 65 fps and slightly surpassing the 5070 Ti, especially at 1% lows. At 4K, it gains 8%, matching the 5070Ti with better lows.
Space Marine 2
The game received performance notes in its April update, though the improvements stem from driver fixes. Nvidia resolved an issue causing the 5070 Ti to underperform, resulting in a 36% uplift at 1440p. The 9070 XT gains 10%.
The 5070Ti is now 6% faster, not 14% slower. At 4K, the 5070Ti goes from 44 fps to 72 fps, a 63% increase. The 9070 XT also gains 10% and averages 66fps, giving Nvidia a 9% lead.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6
Both GPUs improve. 5070 Ti gains 6%, while the 9070 XT gains 14%, turning a 22% advantage into a 30% advantage. At 4K, a 3% gain for the 5070Ti and a 13% gain for the 9070 XT maintain a 30% lead.
Overall 16-Game Summary
Across the 16 games tested, the 9070 XT gains an average of 9% with the new drivers. 5070 Ti gains 2.5%. Where the 5070 Ti was previously 2.5% faster, the 9070 XT is now 3% faster at 1440p. At 4K, the 9070 XT improves 4% and the 5070Ti improves 3%, resulting in equal performance overall, unchanged from the review.

Where Gains Occurred
The largest improvements for the 9070 XT appear in Spider-Man, Counter-Strike 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Delta Force, Call of Duty, Stalker 2, Space Marine 2, and God of War Ragnarök. Six games showed gains of 5% or less, including Starfield, Star Wars Outlaws, The Last of Us Part I, Jedi Survivor, Dying Light 2, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard. At 4K, only three titles saw double-digit gains, and seven saw no change.
Final Thoughts
In the US, the 9070 XT is available for $700, though the MSRP is $600. The 5070Ti is listed at around $900, giving it an approximate 30% price premium.
We continue to track progress as drivers and game patches evolve. The 9070 XT and 5070Ti remain close competitors overall, and pricing remains a primary deciding factor.
