Twitch Viewership For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is Lower Than Ever

People don't seem to care for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as Twitch Viewership seems to be declining rapidly.

Just when things couldn't get any worse for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, it would seem that not even streamers can get anyone interested in the game as the viewership for the military shooter is at an all-time low. This would make Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 the weakest Call of Duty release on the streaming platform since 2019. There were plenty of high expectations for the game but sadly, things don't look promising.

Things weren't looking great for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 right from the get go as the game was met with numerous negative reviews when it was recently released on 10 November 2023. Many of these negative reviews included numerous fans expressing their disappointment and other complaints about the game. This is rather strange as the game does have improved gameplay compared to its predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The Call of Duty series is probably one of the most popular first-person military shooters, the franchise has been highly praised for its story and intense gameplay. While the games have received plenty of praise, players have had their concerns that the next Call of Duty game will struggle to surpass the previous, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 seems to have proven these concerns correct.

The large decrease in viewership was first reported by StreamsCharts, which showed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was currently holding the fourth spot in Twitch viewership, which means that the game was trailing behind the likes of GTA 5, Fortnite and the MOBA League of Legends. Since it's initial release, the game had accumulated 15 million hours of watch time and that the game had beat Valorant and World of Warcraft in viewership. Despite how impressive this may sound, it's day-one viewership was the lowest of any Call of Duty release since 2019, with its debut only garnering 3.3 million hours of viewership.

When the game gets compared to the previous five games in the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 stands out with just how underwhelming its reception has been from fans. Sadly, even with its consistent viewership, the game sadly does not meet the records that were previously set for the series. To put things into perspective, Black Ops - Cold War, which was released back in 2020, nearly doubled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s day-one viewership when it was released. The low viewership is most likely connected to players dissatisfaction with the game itself. Let's hope that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will somehow be able to redeem itself.
