Car combat is back
News by Ian Mailloux on Sep 13, 2010
The car combat genre seems to be experiencing a renaissance, as classic franchises Vigilante 8 and Twisted Metal have been revived in recent years. Now there seems to be a newcomer to the genre, one with a twist.
Following a rating by the British Board of Film Classification, Activision has taken the wraps of its upcoming car combat game Blood Drive.
From the press release, Blood Drive's contestants "must use their motorized death steeds of steel in a televised game show where drivers battle each other and hordes of revolting flesh eaters in an all-out fight to the death."
That's right, this game's got zombies. Also it's got six different environments which house the game's tournament-style events. Did I mention it has zombies?
Activision seems to have a quick turnaround on this one, as Blood Drive is scheduled to be released this November for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at a lower price of $49.99.
