Lifeless Planet will soon be populated by many; one player at a time, at least.

Publisher Lace Games announced that Lifeless Planet will release for PC on June 6, 2014. It’s currently still experiencing a wind-up to that through Early Access on Steam.

In fact, it’s a rather refreshing sight to see an announcement for the game already, as Lifeless Planet only came onto the pre-platform a big month ago. Usually, these linger for about half a year on Early Access. More impressively still, the adventure game is being made almost exclusively by one person, David Board, who stated:

When I first set-off down this path some two and a half years ago, little did I know just how much of my life would be dominated by this labour of love.  Clearly, those long, dark, cold Alaskan winter nights have helped keep me focused!

Perhaps some of the isolation has also contributed to making Lifeless Planet the game that it is. In this story, players take the role of an astronaut stranded on a strange, deserted alien planet. There’s one catch though: Remnants of an human civilization seem present on this planet. It’s up to the player to discover just what exactly is going on. To do so, the game takes on a traditional explorative design. Very little is explained. Story comes from observing scenery. Creepiness will ensue.

It’s possible to snag Lifeless Planet on Early Access for €12.99.
