Insomniac Games, the studio behind PlayStation's critically acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series, may kick off their most ambitious era to date. Speculations suggest that the developer has an awe-inspiring lineup of Marvel titles and staple franchises planned between now and the end of the decade.

According to a report initially circulated by the YouTuber, The Mag Show, and later picked up by ComicBook.com, Insomniac is allegedly in the works for major game releases through 2030. If proven right, the studio could deliver a Marvel blockbuster nearly every other year, consolidating its stranglehold as one of Sony's most integral first-party developers.
Rumored Roadmap: Excitement is through the roof, expectations are skyrocketing.
Apparently, the schedule is as follows:
- Venom: Targeting a 2026 release
- Wolverine: Expected in 2027
- Spider-Man 3: Gunning for 2029
- Ratchet & Clank: A new entry, possibly in a developmental stage
- X-Men: Reportedly discussed for 2030 or beyond
Insomniac has officially confirmed none of these dates, and the original informant urges fans to take the leaks with "a pinch of salt". However, the timeline aligns closely with a previously leaked internal roadmap following last year's controversial data breach at Insomniac. This leads fans to believe that a cloud of uncertainty exists, as the data breach may alter the studio's course of action, thereby keeping their player base on edge.
After Venom's prominent role in Spider-Man 2 (2023), rumors about a standalone game have only intensified. The release of Miles Morales in 2020 paved the way for an in-depth insight into the Marvel universe; equally, a Venom-centered installment could be another step towards grasping a more mature perspective on the plot.

Reportedly, the gameplay is adapting a more refined and dynamic symbiote-driven combat playstyle. A 2026 release would align with Insomniac's typical developmental approach, and given the character's immense popularity, such a title would likely captivate fans.
However, anticipation looms large despite Wolverine's delay. The game was announced back in 2021, but any news since then has been few and far between. That, however, changed briefly when leaked internal footage and early assets caught players' attention during the aforementioned Insomniac data breach. The original roadmap indicated a 2026 release, but newer rumors have emerged, hinting at a delay to 2027, likely due to development challenges and potential post-leak revisions.
The studio's distinguished track record could mean extra development time, which would be beneficial for what is expected to be a grunge, more mature, and "on the nose" approach towards the Marvel anti-hero.
According to the leak, Spider-Man 3 is aiming for a 2029 release, likely for the PlayStation 6. If true, this installment could one-up the visual aesthetics and gameplay in comparison to its predecessor, elevating the franchise to peak popularity.
The more extended development periods between each Spider-Man game also underscore the increasing complexity of AAA game production and the standards the game has set for its ever-growing fan base.
What About Ratchet & Clank— and the X-Men? Beyond Marvel, Insomniac may also revisit the household name that is the Ratchet & Clank series, with a new installment eyed for 2028 or 2029. Additionally, there are rumors of a new X-Men game on the horizon, possibly targeting 2030 or 2031, although the ambitions surrounding the project remain undisclosed.

So what's in store for the fans? If these plans stick true to their roadmap, Insomniac is going to release a new blockbuster title every year from 2026 through 2029, at an astonishing pace for any developer in the industry. With a reputation for delivering high-quality, story-driven superhero games, the next five years could solidify Insomniac's position as the defining studio of the PlayStation ecosystem.
We must keep in mind that, as with all leaks, plans may differ, and delays are always a possibility. However, as the excitement increases, so do the standards; yet we know Insomniac does not overpromise, but certainly over-delivers.
If they match these standards they have set for themselves, it remains to be seen. Nonetheless, these rumored projects show just how much faith fans have in Insomniac's ability to bring the Marvel universe, and beyond, to life.
