No Natal for Halo... Yet
News by Tim on Sep 11, 2009
Those worrying about game studios pushing Natal technology in shooters when it isn't yet feasible can now stop sweating: Halo ODST producer Alex Cutting announced that the Halo franchise won't be utilizing Natal's motion-sensing technology anytime soon. Cutting didn't completely rule out the move, but told VideoGame.com that "we [Microsoft Game Studios] are committing to only doing it [incorporating Natal technology] when it makes sense. We are not going to produce a gimmicky feature that just takes advantage of motion controls when it doesn't feel right."
After Microsoft announced that Epic Games and Bungie were "already experimenting with Project Natal" back in July, Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski made a similar comment, stating that "the classic control interface is what Epic will be working on in the foreseeable future."
