21st Century Breakdown

The title of my blog is the very name of Green Day's latest album, which is their eighth studio album in total, and will be released on May 15th. I personally cannot wait, i've been a huge fan of the band for a number of years now, and not only does this give me a chance to hear some new material from the punk trio, but it also gives me a chance to see them live for the very first time in my life.

The first single from the album entitled 'Know Your Enemy' is released on April 16th, just 6 days from now, and there is currently a 90-second preview of it that can be downloaded from their site if you wish. That's not the song that excites me the most though, it's the track the album was named after, and it has been leaked onto the internet for all to hear. It sounds like a mix of American Idiot and some of their old stuff and although it's not the final version it's pretty damn awesome. It looks like they're going for another rock opera sort type album and that's completely fine by me. American Idiot is my favourite album of all time, so more of the same please.
