5 Things You Should Know About Resident Evil 2 2019

Resident Evil 2 2019 is Capcom's next big game and not only does it retell one of the best survival-horror games of all time but has other elements that the player should be aware of. Here are 5 things you should know about Resident Evil 2 2019.

5. New Content

Resident Evil 2 2019 will include new content not available in the original. Capcom hasn't revealed fully what that will be the most notorious new addition is the Orphanage. The small gameplay and screenshots shown do hint at that Sherry, the little girl that Claire protects will be playable but it hasn't been confirmed. 

4. Faithful to the Original

Resident Evil 2 2019 will feature new content this doesn't mean it's a remake. The core story will remain the same as the 1998 game as not to break the canon lore. Players who played the original will find a lot of nostalgic areas within the game to explore.

3. Separate Campaigns

Speaking of being faithful, players can expect the iconic separate campaigns. Like in the original players will get to choose to play as either Leon or Claire and follow the 2 in different adventures. Since the duo will explore the same areas you will have to manage resources and leave behind items that the other can use.

2. Third-Person Control Scheme

Unlike the remake of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 2019 will feature modernized controls pioneered by Resident Evil 4 and not the tank controls of the original. The third-person view will allow for better movement and control as opposed to the fixed camera structure from the original. A welcome addition and something we complemented the developers on in our preview at NYCC 2018.

1. Ada Wong is Playable

For those wondering, Ada Wong will be a playable character in Resident Evil 2 2019. She has been shown to use her own hacking device unique to solve puzzles.

Resident Evil 2 2019 launches on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 this January 25th.
