And so I am graduating!!!

I am almost done with this semester and cannot wait for my graduation on May 27th. It has been quite a nice hectic and even torturous 4 year journey towards my ultimate goal. So I want to take a time and pay my sincere thanks to the following for accompanying me during this time for 4 long years:

1.  My “kul balish” (My side pillow): Yes yes! This pillow was specially made for me on request by my Nani (Grandma). For at least 4 years this pillow was my sleeping partner and had to bear my torturous weight (when I was too heavy) and still going strong. I am writing this blog with this pillow providing me a back rest.

2. My Targus multipurpose backpack: My grey Targus backpack had gone through even more torturous times for 4 years, since it carried so many items, starting from those heavy 300-400 pages engineering books to even hold my long foregone HP n8440 Workstation Laptop. Right now my friend possesses this backpack as he gave me the even better Swiss Gear backpack (the best backpack in my point of view) to me just to carry my heavy Alienware. However my Alienware and my Logistics book planned an evil plot to tear the backpack with their heavy weight. The straps are torn and I think I need to buy another one, because I don’t have access to my beloved Targus (who cannot carry my Alienware due to size restriction).

3. My HP n8440 Workstation: When I first got this laptop 4 years ago for “Free” from Stevens, I was like the king of the world. Normally this laptop in the market cost around $3550 dollars at that time. It was very powerful machine that can be used for engineering, animation and gaming purposes. The beast had 1920 x 1080 support, and it was my first computer to support that. Now 4 years have passed and this laptop was breathing its last. The laptop rubber parts (from buttons) were removed, there were scratches all over, the laptop overheated a lot and the laptop did not have battery anymore (it ran through the AC adapter). After I bought my Alienware, I finally decided to send my HP to retirement. I just gave this laptop away to my friend’s uncle for him to use with a price of just a treat in a restaurant.

4. My luggage: My black luggage has been carrying over 50 pounds every time I went back and forth to my country Bangladesh and United States and to places where I have been for my Habitat for Humanity trips. If I look at the luggage right now I can see 2 chains and the handle are broken. Among all the things I am mentioning here, this fellow has gone through a lot of torture.

5. My Xbox 360 and my 19 inch Samsung: If I had no 360, I would have gone crazy with so many courses I was having each and every semester.  360 and the LCD TV (I wished a bigger TV) were my relaxation pills.

6. FL Studio: Yes! I spent a lot of my free time making music using this beauty. In my 4 years of study I made a total of 30 full songs, yet to be released in the market hopefully.

7. Calling cards, Skype and that stupid MetroPCS phone: My mind would have gone crazy if I could not able to talk to my parents, my sister (I hope my parents and my sister don’t see this) and my friends back home. I guess these items were handful every single day, since I always talked to my parents everyday and to my friends once or twice per week.

8. Facebook and other sites: I registered Facebook when I got admitted to Stevens four years back (the time when there were only wall posts and photo tagging and no stupid applications). Without Facebook, I would not be able to keep in touch with lots of friends back home and here too. And now I have many friends from Stevens, NoobFeed and from other sites where I was involved a lot always accompaniying me.

9. Family and friends: No comments. Pretty self explanatory. I hope my family doesn’t  see this.

I may have other things to thank, but I am having hard time finding those out.
