Are Movie Games The Root of All Evil?

In a land far from here, a land that no man deserves to be, a land so fierce, so desolate, so much like Rosie O'Donalds snatch, no one would go near. This land is some desert, in said desert, hundreds of thousands of copies of E.T are burried. But why, why? Was the game that bad? did it sell that poorly? The answer to those questions is yes. Does it really deserved to be burried in Rosie's snatch? I don't think so.

Look at the guy, he means no harm. Why was it him. But as far as Movie games go this is about as low as it gets, they dont get much higher either though. Thats right King Kong, get your ass off that pedistal and let Riddick take over. But in all seriousness folks i really can't think of alot of good movie games besides Riddick.

But does that mean we should just think that they are a lost cause and deemed them un worthy of our while. I beg to differ.

I think that there is something to be said for our time and movie games. Yes they often suck quality, but does that mean they are bad as a product. I say no.

Look at him, Mr. Tony Stark, all he wants is time in your disk tray. The reason i am using this as an example is my personal experience with it. The thing about this game is, is it perfect? no, is it even that good? not really. Thats where m,y negativity towards it ends. I played this game and had as much exccitment as a Nun at bible camp. The quality of these games has something to be desired, but the pure fun left me happy. I don't play many movie games, but i played this one. Why? One simple reason. I saw the movie and wanted to play as a Bad Ass Mofo like Tony Stark.

I'll make this example. Little Johny see's an episode of Power Rangers. He loves the show, he looks up to these characters as something that he wants to be.  Now little Johny is in Walmart with his mom, he is in the electronics isle and see`s a Power Ranger`s game. He wants that game. Why. Does he know it will be crap, not likely. He won`t even care if its crap. Why, becuase its familiar to him, he knows and loves it. When he gets home and plays that game he is going to love it because he can play as his favourite characters.

Thats the way I feel about Iron Man, not quite to that extent, but the same idea. I played that game and I said to myself. I know this guy, I get to play as a Bad-Ass who I know and like. I think that the pure enjoyment you can get from something familiar has something to say for it. Not just in games, in anything.

I shall use this example now. If someone offered you a car, one was a Ford and the other was an import that you have never heard of. Chances are that you will take the one that you know, and love.

So. Take this writing for what you will, agree with me or not, I feel that there is something to be said for the fun and enjoyment you get out of something that feels at home to you.

Oh and I wrote this because RON said I should write more articles. And I enjoy writing said articles.
