Genesis Part 1 is one of the richest maps in ARK: Survival Ascended, but the best farming spots are spread across five biomes, and none of them are signposted. This guide covers where every important resource spawns and how to gather it fast.

Start in the Lunar Biome. The plants inside the Lunar caves cover nearly every building need, and a Castoroides slot caps on a single hit. The blue glowing plants give Crystal and Stone, the yellow ones give Sap and Fiber, and the spiky rocks give Wood and Thatch.

Your other early priority is a Mining Drill. It runs on Gasoline and pulls Metal, Crystal, Obsidian, Stone, and Wood far faster than hand tools. It also chips structures, so keep it away from your own walls.

Element Shards, Element, and Metal

The volcano is the best Element Shard run on the map. Mine the red crystals along the trails to the top, and bring a Magmasaur, because the richest clusters sit near the Magmasaur eggs. Watch for eruptions.

Shards also drop from any rock in the Lunar Biome, farmed with a Metal Pick, an Ankylosaurus, or a Mining Drill. A Tek Skiff lets you ferry the Ankylosaurus between clusters. You cannot gather Element directly, so build a Tek Replicator once you have 100 Element and convert shards at a one-to-one rate.

Metal comes from those same Lunar rocks, the path down from the volcano, and the Arctic Biome mountain, which also holds Crystal, Obsidian, and Oil. Hidden clusters in the Ocean Biome at 50, 50 need a Dunkleosteus.

Electronics, Polymer and Ambergris

Only Tek creatures spawn in the Lunar Biome, and harvesting them with a Chainsaw returns up to three times more Electronics than eating them with a carnivore.

Organic Polymer comes from the Karkinos in the Lunar cave, again with a Chainsaw, while Kairuku near the Arctic Biome fishing mission drop small amounts. Obsidian is plentiful enough that crafting Polymer yourself is often simpler. Ambergris only comes from the Lunar Biome stones, and it spoils, so gather it just before raising a Magmasaur.

Pearls, Gems and the Rest

Silica Pearls fill the deep lake at the center of the northeastern Ocean Biome island, and the blue glowing shells below the mission terminal at 50, 50 are just as rich. Bring an Anglerfish.

Black Pearls appear only in the volcano among the Element crystals, and nearby obsidian rocks look almost identical. Gems sit around the air bubbles beneath the ocean mission terminal. Sulfur covers the volcano slopes, Sand and Silk come from the northeastern desert islands, Rare Mushrooms come from Bog Biome trees, and Rare Flowers turn up while gathering Fiber in the Arctic Biome.

With a Mining Drill and one route through the Lunar Biome and the volcano, you can cover almost every resource in ARK: Survival Ascended Genesis Part 1 in a single trip.

FAQ

Q. What is the fastest way to get Element in Genesis Part 1?

A. Farm Element Shards on the volcano or in the Lunar Biome, then convert them in a Tek Replicator at a one-to-one rate. Buying Element from the HLN-A shop costs 1,000 Hexagons each and rarely pays off.

Q. Where do you find Black Pearls?

A. Only inside the volcano, among the Element crystals. The innermost area near the Magmasaur eggs has the most, and a Mining Drill gives the best yield.
