Post Game Press Conference

Coach: I'm pretty disappointed in our lack of sportsmanship. We wanted to win by a substantial margin, but this is just overkill. I regret letting my players takeover the way they did and take advantage of this developing school. We wanted to get some practice against these guys, but we have to remember that they're humans and we needed to show mercy on them. Apologies go out to the Toledo squad. You have much potential.

Thaddeus Gibson: I already know the first question I'll be asked so I'll go ahead and tell you right now, it's amazing to break the single game sack record. I was just reading the defense and getting a good jump on the snap, leading to 6 sacks in the game. The defense played well.

Bama Makes Big Statement

After a close loss to the Cornhuskers in week 1, Bama had a week off to gather their thoughts and come up with a plan to get back into the season. Luckily for them, they would play host to the upstart team from Jacksonville.
Jumping to a 14-0 lead after one with the ball headed back toward's the endone, Jacksonville's defense would force a high lob which was returned for a pick-6 bringing the game to within one score. Bama would play the rest of the game full of piss and vinegar and cap this one off 45-14 to nab their first win of the season. McElroy would throw for 362 yards and 4 touchdowns with 2 interceptions and HB Ingram would run for 99 yards and a touchdown and catch for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns. Bama would utilize Ingram because of the constant rush from Jacksonville and McElroy found Jones for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Game Notes

Compiled 7 sacks (3 players with 2 and 1 with 1)

Fumbled 5 times (def would recover 3, 3 would be overturned, and one would sit on the ground while Jacksonville players stood and looked at it until a Bama player grabbed it for an additional 3-4 yards)

-220 in sportsmanship points haha (i'm usually really good at sportsmanship but i'll be honest, that pick-6 really pissed me off)
