Back to the Dawn is a prison RPG game, where you need to carefully maintain four different types of Specialties to get the best outcome in every situation.

Strength Specialties

The Strength tree focuses on raw physical power, durability, and combat prowess. When you invest in these specialties, you'll become a formidable force in confrontations.

Resilience makes you survivable by boosting your maximum amount of health by 8 points, so you last longer in battles and hazardous areas. Smash boosts your attacking capacity, which enhances your critical damage in combat interactions by 25% in Back to the Dawn.

If you prefer a more defensive approach, Toughness provides superior recovery, granting you an additional 20% effectiveness when restoring your body stat.

Catnap offers a unique quality-of-life improvement by preventing your satiety from decreasing while you rest, allowing you to maintain your energy levels more efficiently.

For active combat, Counterattack unlocks the Counterattack Stance during fights, while Adrenaline Rush enables you to use Adrenal Stimulation when engaged in battle.

Crafter provides practical utility by allowing you to create simple tools and weapons, reducing your dependence on finding or purchasing equipment.

Fortitude serves as a safety net for failed strength challenges, preventing mind loss and returning half of the stamina you spent in Back to the Dawn.

Scarred Hunter represents a high-risk, high-reward specialty that permanently increases your maximum health by 1 point whenever you lose 10 or more body points in a single instance.

This effect can only trigger once per day and requires you to unlock 4 other specialties first.

Crushing Blow is the pinnacle of strength specialties, requiring nine other unlocked specialties in Back to the Dawn.

Once active, landing three consecutive hits against an opponent guarantees that your next unarmed attack will be a critical hit, making it devastatingly effective in prolonged fights.

Agility Specialties

Agility specialties emphasize speed, precision, and tactical advantages in both combat and stealth situations.

Weapon Practice eliminates the energy penalty from the All Thumbs condition when performing weapon attacks, making your combat more efficient in Back to the Dawn.

Steal grants you the ability to pickpocket items from other prisoners' pockets, opening up new avenues for resource acquisition.

Reflex reduces your focus point recovery time by 10 minutes, allowing you to use special abilities more frequently.

Balance provides energy conservation in combat by returning energy equal to your agility score whenever an opponent successfully dodges your attack.

Surprise Attack unlocks a special combat move that can catch opponents off guard. Secret Compartment increases your violation threshold by 10 points, helping you avoid detection during cell searches and contraband activities in Back to the Dawn.

Tool Tamer offers equipment preservation with a 30% chance that tools and weapons won't lose durability when used. Locksmith enables you to attempt picking anti-theft locks, potentially accessing restricted areas or secured containers.

Weapon Change requires 4 other unlocked specialties and allows you to spend one combat turn switching your equipped weapon, providing tactical flexibility mid-fight.

Ambush is an advanced agility talent that requires 9 other unlocked talents. If you fail to attack on a fight turn, your dodging is boosted by 5% and your damage is increased by 20% at the end of each turn, with patient rewards and strategic play.

Intelligence Specialties

The Intelligence tree focuses on mental acuity, strategic planning, and support capabilities.

Multi-threaded Brain expands your quest capacity, allowing you to accept up to 3 simultaneous quests from each quest giver.

Combat Prep provides tactical advantage by restoring 2 focus points at the beginning of any fight.

Focus Up increases your focus point maximum by 1, expanding your ability to use special moves. Conceal adds 2 hidden storage compartments to your cell, providing secure storage for contraband items.

Concentration unlocks a combat move that leverages your mental focus during fights. Bookworm enhances your knowledge actions by providing 2 additional points, with an extra point added for every 3 books you've read, encouraging continuous learning.

Basic Medicine enables you to craft Bandages, Laxatives, and Sleeping Pills. Additionally, using the Wrap action during combat will heal you for an amount equal to your intelligence score.

Second Strike provides compensation when you don't get the first turn in combat, increasing your attack power by 2 and granting you a shield equal to 10% of your maximum health.

Successful Failure, requiring 4 other unlocked specialties, turns setbacks into learning opportunities. Even failed roll challenges will grant you experience, and critical failures provide triple experience rewards.

Mental Clarity is the elite intelligence specialty that demands 9 other unlocked specialties. If you spend your rest in combat with 0 focus points left, your focus points will be restored to 2, allowing you to make tactical choices even in crises.

Charisma Specialties

Charisma specialties revolve around social manipulation, information gathering, and interpersonal advantages in Back to the Dawn.

Affinity reduces the focus point cost for befriending prisoners to just 1 point, making social networking more efficient. Extort allows you to intimidate prisoners whose gang status doesn't exceed yours, forcibly taking their money upon success.

True Friends provides rapport bonuses when trading with other prisoners, improving your negotiation outcomes. Memory Palace offers flexibility by allowing you to forget enabled skills and regain their skill points, though forgotten skills become unavailable for 24 hours.

Distract unlocks a combat move that can disrupt your opponent's actions during fights. Juicy Gossip enables you to eavesdrop on inmate conversations to gather intel, storing up to 10 pieces of information.

During afternoon recreation, you can sell this intel to the Barbershop for money equal to your current charisma score.

Romanticism teaches you to craft Scented Soap, Bouquets, and Colored Paper Cranes, items that may have exceptional social or trading value. Winning Edge provides mental resilience by restoring 1 mind point on successful rolls and 5 mind points on critical successes in Back to the Dawn.

Charm Defensive, requiring 4 other unlocked specialties, converts your social prowess into combat defense.

Each point of charisma provides 1% damage reduction during fights.

All or Nothing represents the pinnacle charisma specialty, requiring 9 other unlocked specialties. When your focus points reach zero, you gain a +1 bonus to all roll challenges, turning desperation into opportunity in Back to the Dawn.
