Understanding the basics of Combat Traits is one of the most crucial aspects in Back to the Dawn for winning brutal battles and boss fights.

Rapid Action

When you use this power to perform an attack, your attack will be uninterrupted. This helps you chain things together, performing lethal combination attacks or making different combinations of moves in one turn in Back to the Dawn.

Throw

Your attack's accuracy is decreased by 10% through the use of this ability, making them slightly more complicated to land. However, the projectile nature of thrown attacks makes them encounterable, ensuring that while they do land, your opponent can't counter with a counter-attack in Back to the Dawn.

Death Slice

This characteristic enhances your weapon's accuracy by 10%, rather than decreasing it, making your attacks more likely to hit their target. The fatal nature of such attacks also suppresses the opponents' ability to counter-attack, leaving them vulnerable to your attack.

Precision Strike

Your attacks bypass all defensive measures when you wield weapons with this trait. Shield blocks, armor plating, and other protective barriers become meaningless as your strikes penetrate directly through to deal unmitigated damage to your target.

Long Handle

The increased range given by this ability gives you a 5% greater chance of hitting your target. The advantage of the added strike distance and leverage makes attacking opponents who would usually dodge shorter-range weapons easier in Back to the Dawn.

Insult to Injury

This ability takes advantage of your opponent's degrading status by granting one additional point of attack power for every current debuff your opponent is subject to. The greater your disadvantage your foe ends up in, the more powerful your attacks against them will be.

Brutal Combo

Each additional hit you land on the same target boosts your attack by 2 points. Stacking rewards, aggressive, relentless attack strategies, and can rapidly build up to deal a massive amount of damage.

Heavy Blow

Critical hits become significantly more devastating with weapons having this skill, as the critical hit damage multiplier is increased by 25%.

Therefore, your best strikes will have an even greater impact when executed precisely in Back to the Dawn.

Shake

In addition to causing regular damage, successful attacks also drain 5 points of energy from the target. This energy drain can quickly weaken enemies and stop them from using critical skills or staying in defensive stances in Back to the Dawn.

Cut

Each successful hit carries a 50% probability of inflicting a bleeding wound on your target. This chance-based effect can accumulate over multiple attacks, potentially resulting in severe blood loss that continues to damage opponents over time.

Hemorrhage

Unlike the chance-based Cut trait, this guarantees that every successful attack will inflict at least one layer of bleeding damage on your opponent. The certainty of this effect makes it invaluable for building up consistent damage over time in Back to the Dawn.

Stab

The quality of weapons with this trait increases your chances of critical hits by 5%. This boost makes your attacks more likely to reach maximum critical levels and activate other essential attacks of Back to the Dawn.

Blunt

When you land a critical hit with bludgeons, your target becomes stunned for a complete turn and cannot move. Although stunned, their critical damage output is reduced, adding only 10% more damage instead of the usual critical boost bonus in Back to the Dawn.

Ripper

Critical strikes with weapons having this trait apply the Deep Wound status effect to your target. This wound deals permanent damage that persists after the initial hit, giving yet another bonus to critical strikes.

Graze

Regardless of whether you miss your attacks, weapons with Graze always deal 30% of their intended damage. No attack will ever be wasted, even shots that were supposed to take away enemies' health.

Worn

Weapons with this trait have reduced effectiveness, as their base attack power is weakened by decay.

Although this is a drawback, understanding this trait will help you make proper decisions regarding maintenance and replacement of weapons in Back to the Dawn.
