The class system in Battlefield 6 adds depth and uniqueness, unlike previous entries. Each of the classes will come with unique abilities, passive traits, and weapon specializations. This guide will give you an overview of every class: Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon.

Assault

This class primarily puts its focus on mobility and aggression. You have faster, easier movement across all weapons, making you more nimble in fights.

As your level increases, this class will gain a second adrenaline injector, allowing you to move faster with better health regeneration.

The active ability reveals the enemy. Making them easier to hear, although it’s not always necessary.

You’re given a stimulant that will grant you faster running and walking speed, and it allows you to take more explosive damage, but won’t provide you with instant health or regeneration. It’s best to use it before getting into gunfights.

In this class, you’ll be able to equip assault rifles, carbines, DMR’s or shotguns, and it’s the only class in the game that allows you to carry two primary weapons.

You also have additional gadgets like an explosive grenade launcher and a thermobaric launcher; the fire launcher is particularly useful against infantry. The assault classes also have fun movement you can utilize in the sense that you don’t have damage penalties after falling.

Engineer

The engineer class is great at vehicle warfare; you have perks such as faster launcher reloads and improved repair efficiency. When you’re at a higher level, you’ll be able to slow enemy vehicle repairs and enhance your own repair effectiveness. The repair torch allows for direct vehicle restoration.

This class will also take reduced explosive damage, which is useful in chaotic situations.

It also comes with weapon perks like SMG specializations, improved hip fire accuracy, especially when you pair the SMG with lasers.

You’re available gadgets will include RPG, stinger missile, and motion sensor mines. The RPG is a handy tool against ground and air targets, whereas the Stinger will lock onto aircraft.

Support

Like its name, this class primarily puts an emphasis on supporting the team by healing and defense. It will allow nearby allies to heal directly, and you also get regeneration after reviving your teammates.

At higher levels, gadgets like the deployable cover wall give you extra durability and allies, as well get peroxide health and regeneration.

Primary graduate is your supply box to automatically heal on resupplying your teammates with range, even if you’re suppressed.

This class will specialize in light machine guns, with its way to not hinder your movement speed. You’ll also be able to revive your teammates using defibrillators or use them to instantly deliver charged melee kills, and the deploy will come in handy as a protective barrier for holding objectives.

Recon

This class primarily puts an emphasis on sniping; you’ll automatically spot enemies and they’ll be marked upon hit, reducing their healing speed. Headshot kills will prevent enemies from being revived.

Its active ability is a UAV drawn that will scan and pink enemies across the map, making it handy for the entire team.

Your main gadget is your motion sensor that will detect enemy movement in an area, while the spawn beacon will allow the red deployment of you and your teammates. You also get a faster sniping bolt cycling, and instead of your aim when you’re scoped in, it’s the best option for precision shooters.

What to Pick

You’re probably wondering which class you want to choose, as each of them will serve a distinct purpose according to your playstyle. Assault dominates close combat and offers unique benefits, such as having two primaries. Whereas engineers will provide essential anti-vehicle capabilities.

The support role stands out as an overall balanced option, capable of healing, reviving, and defending. Whereas the recon will come in handy at long range.

To have a balanced team set up, you want a bit of both, but overall, assault, support, and recon proved to be the most effective for the majority of the situations.
