Here’s a guide on how to complete the Burning Stove Multi-Part Side Questline in Bellwright.

Bellwright repeatedly stresses that a true revolution cannot be achieved through isolated peasant skirmishes against Lord Ashbourne's crown forces. In order to establish a firm and unshakable foothold throughout the vast map of Karvenia, your fledgling faction must form strong alliances with existing underground networks.
One of the most important hidden groups you will come across in your travels, and one of the most strategically valuable, is the Burning Stove faction.

This ultra-secret syndicate is a free-standing, militant cell of freedom fighters operating directly under the watchful eye of the crown. It’s fun to get into their multi-part story arc, and it gives your village unparalleled military leverage, plus deep political context on the ongoing mainland war. If you skip this important side questline, your recruitment options will be severely limited in the late game, and you won’t be able to get access to legendary specialized labor.
Wilderness Exploration ignites the Burning Stove Questline
Unlike standard village assignments, which just appear on a local community notice board, the Burning Stove questline requires active exploration to trigger. Inexperienced commanders tend to spend a lot of time trying to find the right quest-giver in the congested outskirts of the main starting settlements. The first official chapter, which the world knows as Burning Stove Part One, is triggered once your character crosses into a very specific hostile territory, and is done so dynamically.
To formally kick-start this great endeavor, you must march your active warband into the northernmost reaches of the high-threat Crasmere territory. Your main mission is to find a heavily fortified three-star red bandit camp located deep within the harsh wilderness terrain. As you get closer to the outer palisades of this particular stronghold, your main in-game journal will immediately update with the new storyline.
Eldric is freed, and the first prison camp is cleared.
When you activate the active event tracker, your initial military objective is to completely wipe out the hostile bandit garrison defending the perimeter. This first stronghold is manned with a particularly aggressive group of veteran marauders that will charge your position immediately with heavy iron weaponry. If you want to avoid your vulnerable rear-guard longbow archers getting swarmed in the opening clash, you need to keep your militia in tight coordination.
After the initial rush of defenders is fully dealt with, you need to do a sweep of the inside of the fort in order to find a large wooden cage. Within this primitive cell is a key historical figure, Eldric Bolton, who has vital intelligence about the underground resistance network. Check the brushes around the cage door for enemy patrols before opening it, just in case.
The Critical Gate of the Camp Flag and Banner System
The territorial occupation mechanic is a completely unique game mechanic that many players get stuck in. If you simply pick the lock on Eldric's cage immediately after combat is over, his dialogue menu will be totally broken. He'll give your character a generic farewell line that effectively freezes your ability to advance the narrative.
To safely bypass this infamous progression gate, you need to actively seek out the physical camp banner or flag planted near the middle of the fort. Your faction can interact directly with this object to formally claim the conquered territory as a liberated zone under your control. And the absolute, hidden prerequisite for unlocking the prisoner’s unique dialogue trees is getting the game engine to recognize this territorial shift.
Report the Rescue to Klara Winterburn in Crasmere
Once you’ve successfully grabbed the camp flag, return to Eldric Bolton for a long dialogue sequence about the broader Karvenian resistance. Your great intervention will make Eldric very thankful, and he will send you to find a strong underground coordinator living nearby. He tells you to go straight to the main village of Crasmere and set up a formal meeting with Klara Winterburn.
The many municipal quarters of Crasmere mean that Klara cannot be found without a good search of the local merchant houses and town squares. Once you tell her that Eldric has been successfully extracted, the first chapter of the questline will officially end. Klara will immediately recognize how much more strategically important you become and will assign you the next steps of the great rescue mission.

Maintaining Your Warband with Superior Nutritional Management
Before you dare set foot outside Crasmere for the next chapters, you must assess your army's baseline logistics in full. The prison camps that are part of the later parts of this questline are some of the most brutal combat areas in the game. If you’re trying to drag your active companions into these high-intensity skirmishes on basic rations like simple berry jam, it’s a recipe for absolute disaster.
You have to go into the food management interface yourself to give your frontline vanguard high-grade cooked stews and roasted meats that buff attributes. Feeding your soldiers high-tier Fine Stew artificially increases their maximum total stamina pools and greatly accelerates their health regeneration rates during active combat. Put these fancy culinary dishes in the upper left slots of your local storage containers so your buddies will eat them first.
Tackling Burning Stove Pt 2 and Saving Brisco Linton
Once your first debriefing session has finished, Klara Winterburn will unlock Burning Stove Part Two and Part Three together. You should definitely open your main journal log and manually select Part Two to ensure your compass tracking system is working correctly. Your heavily armored warband will be guided by the active map waypoint to a secondary prisoner camp just west of Horndean.
This secondary outpost houses a still denser population of veteran brigands who use advanced directional blocking tactics to deflect basic attacks. Or heavy 2-handed iron maces. Or specialized armor-piercing arrows to crack through their reinforced steel shields fast. Once you have successfully obtained the flag from the middle camp, go to the locked cage and have an important conversation with a prisoner called Brisco Linton.
The Diverging Pathways of Prisoner Choice
Brisco Linton is a major narrative crossroads where players can directly influence the ideological future of their rebellion. There are a few different dialogue options that determine where the person you freed will go once out of the cage. You can send the prisoner back to Klara’s safehouse or formally enlist them into your village ranks.
Another option is to send the survivor back to the safety of Crasmere, which further improves your diplomatic standing and respect within the core resistance cell. On the other hand, if you choose to capture the survivor for your own independent peasant militia, your camp will experience an immediate, significant increase in productivity. Think about how much you need to fill your current structural labor shortage vs. how much you want to be in perfect alignment with the underground syndicate.
Finding Secret Achievements and Working with Manual Save Points
These particular character dialogue choices are permanent, so completionist players need to be very careful during these conversations. The differing outcomes of the Burning Stove rescues are a direct function of distinct, mutually exclusive digital milestones within the game. If you decide to send a survivor back to Klara, you will eventually earn the highly coveted Safe Passage achievement for your profile.
Or you can choose to enlist the released prisoner into your active settlement ranks, which will trigger the unique New Bonds Formed achievement milestone. It’s highly recommended to manually back up your save file before opening the cage, as there are occasional scripting quirks between patch versions. This is a precaution so you can reload the encounter and experience both narrative branches without restarting the entire campaign.
The Assault on the Last Camp to Free Belinda Stone
Secondary rescue complete. Turn on your journal tracking system to the focus of Burning Stove Part Three. The last part of this multi-tiered operation is sending your best military unit to a well-protected coastal outpost near the beach zones. The natural geography of this coastal camp is exceptionally open, meaning enemy archers will have clean lines of sight from extreme distances.
Your infantry will be moving across sandy terrain, so use a tight shield-wall to reduce the damage from the ranged volleys coming at you. Systematically take out the elite guards; safely retrieve the last camp banner; and head to the security cage to find Belinda Stone. Belinda is the ultimate prize in the entire Burning Stove narrative arc. She is a legendary figure in Karvenian lore.
Leveraging the Fantastic Strengths of Rescued Allies
The absolute defining reward for successfully completing this grueling multi-part questline is the sheer power of the survivors. Characters like Belinda Stone and Brisco Linton are not generic, low-level peasants who need extensive training to become useful. They are elite veterans pre-generated with spectacular maximum-level attributes straight out of their respective prison cages.
Many players have reported seeing these special recruits with base combat and crafting numbers up to level 20. Their base armor proficiencies are second to none, and their physical strength values are high, making them instant juggernauts on the battlefield. This is a great personal combat upgrade. You steal the power pieces they start with in mid-game and move those power pieces to your main character.
Minimize version reworks and bug fixing after the patch.
The questline’s structure has undergone major development changes, as Bellwright is a very complex, ever-evolving simulation experience. The massive Villages Two Point Zero update, for example, completely reworked the sequencing, camp placement, and objective wording of the Burning Stove arc. You will most likely get completely lost if you try to follow outdated community guides from early alpha builds.

If you are unlucky enough to encounter a bug in which the camp banner does not show an interaction prompt, don't panic. This is a standard mechanical bug that usually means a particular patrol group associated with a camp has strayed a little into the surrounding woods. Manually search the immediate wilderness perimeter and destroy any hidden stragglers, and return to the flag site to force the script to update.
Using Rescued Specialists in Your Late Game HQ
The last of the rescue reports are in Klara Winterburn’s files, and that closes the glorious chapter of the Burning Stove. And the massive international fame points and local trust injections you got from this victory will guarantee your hegemony over the Crasmere territory for all time. Legendary high-stat recruits can now be used to supervise your advanced tier-three manufacturing infrastructure back at your capital base.
Send these elite people to your advanced smelting furnaces, weapon smithies, and weaving looms to drastically optimize your passive resource production speeds. Your fledgling peasant movement will quickly evolve from a desperate band of scattered fugitives into a professional, self-sustaining industrial powerhouse. The powerful alliances you forge in these dark prison breaks will be the ultimate foundation for your final war on the crown.
