Beware of Streams
Other by -Moroes- on Jun 12, 2009
I got out of school 2 days ago, and a few hours after our last exam two of my friends came over to my house. The plan was to own some faces on Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4, but we became bored after the time passed. This crazy idea popped in my head; "ohh man, theres a lake a few miles away... lets go there". The only problem with this was that we had to walk through a couple miles of woods, tress, grass, and pretty much marshland. We walked about a mile, crossing the smaller streams. We came to a large stream and crossed a log to get across. Long story short, we thought a log was a lot more stable than it actually was. We went falling into a 4 foot deep stream of (lack of a better word) crap. The mud deveoured one of my shoes, and almost devestated my phone and iPod. After this we had to hike 2 miles through snake infested grasses and thorns (we were trying to find a faster way by getting to a road first). We basically got stuck in the forest, and since the log was drowned we couldn't go back the other direction unless we didn't mind swimming. Eventually we found a passage to the road, but it took us a good 20 or 40 minutes to carve a path through the thorns. After that we hiked another mile back to my house. I didn't get any pictures of the forest, but I did get some pictures of my clothes after we got back.
The remaining shoe... they were friggin expensive too, $109!
Surprisingly, the pants were salvaged.
As an update, I am addicted to two songs right now. The first song is "Where is my Mind" by the Pixies. Its a great song, and Kurt Cobain admited he copied a lot of the song's elements to write "Smells like a Teen Spirit". The second song/video is "Im on a Boat" by The Lonely Island ft. T-Pain. It could possibly be the dumbest music video I have ever seen (next to Boats n Hoes), but it is amusing and the actual song rhythm is quite catchy, while the lyrics add some humor.
The first football voluntary minicamp was held today. I am extremely happy that football season is back, but I am also disappointed because the minicamps, work-outs, and practices will take up a lot of my time. I won't be able to hang out with friends or on NoobFeed as much now, but I will do my best to make my time for both. I am planning to write another review tommorow on either Mass Effect or Metal Gear Solid 4 (depending how deep I get into the story, im still about half way through). I have been delaying my Mass Effect video review for almost a month now, so expect to see it soon.
