Dreams, Imaginations and Real Life!!!! Complete Insanity!!!!!

I was watching “The Secret”, a two-hour Australian documentary about the laws of attraction and philosophy of our thinking and imagination. I was amazed with the movie since the whole concept is analogous to my way of thinking (especially during my bedtime). Since I was a kid, I used to think for at least an hour on my bed before I fall asleep. This includes the following:

What I did today and what could be the effect of my actions?

Analyze my past dreams, modify it and create a vision of the dream.

Create a new vision from the scratch and carry it on with cinematic flow.

Include multiple goals, demands, and aims in these visions.

Create a virtual life, a sort of alter-ego of myself.

OK!! This seems very stupid and people would wonder what the hell I am talking about. Well I have to explain with some examples.

Example 1: When PS1 craze first came out in Bangladesh, I was completely amazed with the system and the technology it boasted. I was still stuck in SNES era. I used to think about getting and playing it for nights. I even used to have dreams about it and when I woke up and realized, I felt bad but did not let myself down. I kept on asking my parents for this piece for at least 7-8 months. Even when I went to Singapore, my dad bought me a SNES cartridge although I kept focusing on getting a PS1. My parents told me that I won’t be able to get another console since it is harming my studies. I already started thinking about PS1 while playing any game in SNES. Like when I played Donkey Kong or F-Zero, the 3D graphics of Donkey Kong and fast paced game-play of F-Zero made me feel I am actually playing a game in PS1 (note that I didn’t know how PS1 games looked like). I just created a vision of PS1 graphics in my mind while playing any SNES game, and the only idea I had at that time is that PS1 games were supposed to be very fast in terms of graphics (you can call frame rates). I may be wrong at that time. The thinking really made me feel good. I didn’t play that much of high quality PC games at that time in 1999, since I had a Pentium MMX 166 machine with only 4 MB of Trident graphics built in, although there were already Pentium III machines out in the market. I had to wait for at least 5 months when my dad finally bought me a PS1. Great success. Always think positive!!!!!!!!!

Example 2: When I was in grade 5, I had one of my most important dreams in my life. I was a leader of a top-secret team on to save the world from the clutches of evil. It was a 15 member team with everyone with their own superpowers with me having mind and speed power (man I watched too many cartoons, superhero games and Matrix like movies). We form our own base and had connections all over the world. I recollect every single bits from my dream, create a new vision and modify it every single night, just like modifying scenes in a movie. I still have this vision (modified daily and running for 11 straight years which is pretty insane). I create my own scenario and problems and solve it myself inside this big virtual world of mind. I even made and let the members interact with each other. I even added current problems in the world inside this Little Big Planet and used to think what’s next. Is this the reason of me going to an engineering school as engineers are supposed to be the problem solvers? I am just a year away to become an engineer. I also named this super gang as Iron Guard when I was in grade 7 which is taken from a team in Unreal Tournament. I thought it was catchy since we were healing the world into a better place to live in. Iron Guard is also involved in social services and helping the poor.  They have enough funds to help people around the world. In practical, this is tough but still I am very much involved in many humanitarian organizations. I even became a co-leader to lead a team of a student chapter of Habitat for Humanity (a non profit organization) to build houses for the poor for the upcoming year. It’s all coming from my strange dream. Always live with your dreams. It may come true. Well as a part time musician and music being my second major, I also imagined about creating and playing a 2-hour music in front of the huge crowd and the media. This 2 hour music includes instruments and elements from every country around the world. The reason behind this is to express unity musically. Guess what, I have decided to this thing for my senior design project. Wish me luck everyone!!!

Example 3: I never had that much feeling for girls when I was a little kid (well most of the boys and girls used to have rivalries between them). I never understood why some boys were attached with girls until grade 7, when I had another dream. An imaginary girl kissed me. That’s all. That single scenario changed me drastically and I had my first crush on the same year. I knew proposing her is impossible since she was my close friend and I was scared of ruining my friendship. It happened to my other crushes. So I kept on seeing this love partner vision with this partner being an imaginary partner not taken from any real person, or any favorite celebrities.  The reason being imaginary is that it creates fewer burdens in real life. Maybe this imaginary girl can be my future wife. Who knows!!!! Still I felt good thinking this way.

Living with your dreams and having insane amount of innovation can surely helps you think positively and thereby live happily. After all it’s the happiness we all seek. I don’t meditate but the positive things I get to know from people who meditated makes me think I am also meditating and also helping myself. The bottom line of the documentary, “The Secret”, is that the way the whole world reacts depends on the way the person think. If you think positively, you see a better world. De-motivated person always think the world being very rude to him/her. It is the laws of attraction.
